I got my rough draft for the [livejournal.com profile] gaeta_squee secret santa finished!!!!!!! I really, really, really apologize to my recipient (oh, hell- it's [livejournal.com profile] rap541) for the long wait, but Rap, you're getting 50 pages of Felix gen. Pure gen, and Hoshi's name isn't even MENTIONED. I hope it's worth the wait. I REALLY want to post it by tomorrow, as I have a friend visiting this weekend, so it should be up in the next 36 hours.

Also, I decided to do [livejournal.com profile] help_haiti. I'm offering a 5,000 BSG fic here. Interesting point- the only limitations I put on pairings (if you even want them) are consensual and no infidelity (unless it's Ellen Tigh). There's a ton of cool stuff being offered, and obviously, good cause and all that.

Okay. Must get kids up and spend the morning frantically cleaning, so come naptime, I can take the time to re-read and add in a few extra scenes for the fic, and get the damn thing posted.

Whoohoo! ::Does the rough draft is done dance!::

Oh, for crying out loud....

I am not much of a housecleaner. Truthfully, I hate it. I have always been messy (although I'm not really that dirty, there's a difference), and I just suspect that is NEVER EVER going to change. I realize I do not do it often, especially since my parents moved and don't visit every two months. (There's nothing to prompt a housecleaning like a parental visit.) So, I realize that today's activities, in anticipation of a friend's visit, might seem a bit foreign to my boys.

But would it kill them not to have fits every five minutes???

I swear, we spent the entire morning with one or the other of them throwing a fit. I actually turned on WALL-E in hopes of distracting them, but neither of them wanted a thing to do with it. I finally put Trevor down to bed, and Toby is just... I've given up on getting Toby to nap. He's 4, and I think he's past it. But he IS required to play in his room quietly for an hour during the afternoon, just to give me a break. Literally every five minutes it's been something else. "Mommy, I have to go potty." "Mommy, I need help blowing my nose." And if he can't come up with something, "Did you say I can come downstairs yet?" I really need to put a clock in his room. I finally threatened that if he doesn't stop asking, he can't watch any TV. (He usually watches one of his nature documentaries or Exodus Earth in the afternoon.) Truthfully, I suspect he's getting a cold and feels miserable, but I'm getting the same cold, and also feel miserable.

ARGH!

I know this is just the normal, everyday life for every mother of kids. This is how it goes. But boy, does it feel good to vent!!!!

Title: Every Man Must Choose His Way
Author: [livejournal.com profile] lls_mutant
Characters: Billy Keikeya, Felix Gaeta
Pairings: Gen. There is reference to past Billy/Dee and current Dee/Lee, and it's relevant that Felix likes men, but really, this is about as gen as you can get.
Rating: PG-13
Summary: When Billy survived the terrorist attack on Cloud 9, his friendship with Felix evolved into something independent of Dee. And when the Colonials settled New Caprica, it became a friendship that could help save the world.
Author's Notes: Written for the [livejournal.com profile] gaeta_squee Secret Santa, for [livejournal.com profile] rap541. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] kappamaki33 for the beta!
