I've been given the go-ahead to do some running, but I'm supposed to ramp the mileage up slowly. I'm allowed to do 3 mile runs this weekend. However, my training schedule dictated a nine mile run.

I run 12 minute miles. So, 12 minutes times nine miles equals one hour and forty eight minutes. So, I did 2 hours on the elliptical.

That is all.

I missed something - why did you have to stop running?

And - ugh! I hate exercising on a stationary device, period. Any chance you had a DVD player or TV in front of the elliptical or anything?

I've had some trouble with a neuroma in one foot and plantar whateveritis in the other. They gave me an injection for the neuroma and PT for the heel, and the therapist made me stop running for a while :P

And yeah- I did have my laptop and Chicago!!! :)

BTW- I know we haven't figured out what we're doing yet Friday (suggestions? Preferences?), but Toby's running a little fever today. I am guessing it's a cold- I am HOPING it's a cold- I had one last week, and I think he caught it. But just so you know.

Well, how about if we tentatively plan something for Friday, with the knowledge that it might be canceled if things aren't looking better by Thurs. Would you like another trip to your local zoo, or would your boys be bored? Want to come up here? We have the Crayola Factory (which is $10/person, Trevor's free, don't know how you feel about that cost), as well as our own small zoo about half an hour to the northwest.

Okay- sorry for taking so long- I was seeing what happened with the zoo. We had plans to go with a friends' son and his grandmother, but his mom has cancer. I wasn't sure about Toby's cold. But we ended up going, so the boys might not be so up for a zoo trip again so soon.

Maybe your zoo or just hang out at one of our houses?

Oh, and two options down this way!

1.) The creek. There's a creek here (no swimming required), and the park also has hiking trails and a small climbing structure.

2.) The swingset place. There's also a swingset showroom here that has free play on Fridays from 10-1. They have about a dozen swingsets (the nice, big, wooden ones) set up, three full-sized trampolines, and a bunch of basketball hoops. Both of these options are completely free :)

Mrph. Since the girls are just getting over being sick, do you want to postpone this until next Fri/next weekend?

The swingset place sounds awesome! I'm also up for our local zoo, unless your kids are zoo-ed out. I imagine some time at a house would probably be in order for lunch, but I figure, a small expedition could reduce fighting over toys.

I can't remember - you came here last time, right? So maybe we should be the ones making the trip this time? (And if next Fri/weekend doesn't work for you, then I'll just come, myself, once the girls are in school.)

Good point about the girls being sick. Toby's also croaking- his voice sounds terrible.

Next Friday sounds great to me! We did come up last time, so I'm definitely game for you guys coming here. We can make lunch here if you like- I'm always game for that.

All right! I'll go ahead and mark the calendar for next Fri, and we'll come to you for some swingset exploration and lunch. Usual mid-late morning time good for you? Anything we can bring?
