rs_small_gifts. It's been a long, long time since I've enjoyed reading a challenge this much. The stocking stuffer idea was brilliant, ladies. Absolutely brilliant. I need to read more of the hp_holidaygen fics as well, but time is scarce on the ground.
Christmas is in 5 days. It doesn't feel like it. :P I still have cards to send and presents to wrap, and we're leaving on Friday to see my parents. My parents are over the moon that we're (read: Toby) are coming up for Toby's "real" first Christmas. I'm psyched because I get to see my sister's new house. For some reason my mom feels the need to keep warning me it's not like ours. Why she thinks the fact my sister's house is smaller diminishes any excitement I feel at seeing my sister's first house (and why she thinks that I don't know this, despite many conversations with my sister about the house) is beyond me, but hey. But we're doing Christmas day at my sister's, which should be really, really cool. :)
Amusingly, the one thing I have been writing the past few days is AIL. I'm afraid to jinx myself, but I'm pleased I've actually added SOMETHING to it. I am determined that I will not get a beta for it. Proof-reader, yes. Beta, no. Whenever I get a beta, my productivity dries up. I'm getting better about it, and getting better about using one. I'll gladly use one for all my one-shots. But AIL needs to get done, and I really don't want to stand in its way. :)
Toby has his 1 year checkup tomorrow. Cool. I did take him in for a flu shot and we tossed him on the scale and were able to turn his car seat around, which is cool. I can't believe how big he's gotten. I can't believe it's been over a year. Wow.
And because I know I'll want to procrastinate tomorrow, how about the 15 character meme?
1) Make a list of 15 characters first, and keep it to yourself for the moment. (That way you're not leading the questions asked to fit the characters.)
2) Ask people to post questions in the comments.
For example:
"4, 6, 12 & 15 are starting a band together, what is their name and what kind of music do they play? Also, who's the lead singer, and what instruments do the others play?"
3) After people have asked enough questions, round them up and answer the questions using the 15 characters you selected beforehand, and then post them.
