So. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, huh?

Cool.

I wish I had more to say, but I have a hard time speculating off two words. (I mean, anyone who couldn't guess the "Harry Potter and the" part needs a readjustment.) Honestly? After checking to make sure it was Godric's Hollow and not Godric's Hallow, to me, that sounds like something to do with Horcrux Hunting (soul searching. heee.). Which, really, isn't a shock.

Can't come up with anything more creative, I'm afraid.

But still. Cool. I was wondering if we were going to get a release date, but I suspect JKR was preparing us for the fact we weren't by updating her diary yesterday saying she's still writing, and by opening the door early (compared to Christmas) so people don't get their hopes up too high about the release date. I know a lot of people are hoping for 7-7-07, which would be cool, but I dunno. It doesn't sound like she's ready- unless she's been tricking us. Honestly, I hope she's not, because I'd really, really, really like to have AIL finished by the release of book 7, and July is really pushing it.

Oh well.

Hm. Well, good thing I looked our your journal this morning! I wanted to drop by to say THANK YOU for the lovely toffees! They arrived yesterday afternoon, and I'd eaten several by dinner. (Hey, I figure by this age I'm allowed to spoil my own dinner.) Thanks so much for both the candy and card.

I agree, it's hard to read too much into two little words. However, I am intrigued by the fact that it's "deathly" hallows and not "deadly". Is that a Brit/American difference, or are there actually different connotations between the two words?

Huh. First thing I think of with those words is "Gallows" but, yeah, it usually takes a solid six to nine months, right, once she's done writing?

I'm not thrilled by it, personally.

I do hope the 7-7-7 thing is rumour, though, as I'm not ready either. It would be cool in that it's my sister's birthday and 'Half-Baked Plot' came out the day after mine, but other than that I encourage her to take as much time as she needs!

I'd put money on it not being 7/7/07 if there's no announcement before the end of the year, given the time-lag. I'm sticking with autumn/fall as most likely, which is basically what I'd expected even without the announcement.
