Well, I didn't end up finishing the Harry Potter article. At this rate, I might as well almost wait until GoF comes out! Sheesh. Instead I wrote something about adaptations from books to movies.

But I have an art rec! jlarinda has done some fanart for me before, which has been really, really cool. She has a very anime style, which normally I'm not crazy about but here really works. She's just posted some new stuff, and I'm just reccing the highlights:

Sirius and Remus kissing

Sirius and Baby Harry This one was drawn for me when jlarinda found out I was pregnant. It's utterly DARLING.

A grumpy Remus! I love grumpy Remus.

Remus and Harry in PoA This is just a beautiful rendition of the scene from the book.

Harry at age 11 and age 15 I really like this one. I think she not only captured the physical differences, but the emotional differences Harry's experiencing as well.

I normally don't like anime, either, but you're right about that Harry-at-11/Harry-at-15 one. Very nice.

Btw, totally off-subject and rather random question, but is kidlet letting you eat chocolate yet, or have you been completely turned off the substance for the duration?

I'm okay with chocolate these days, but it's unpredictable. Plus, I AM worried about gestational diabetes (my mom had it with me) and all that, so I'm trying to convince myself it's still bad for me anyway ;)

But I can have chocolate flavor all right. (Like chocolate ice cream. Which is what's really important anyway.)

And I just am not crazy about it. No real reason :) I don't think it should be banned or anything... I just tend to prefer very realistic art. Although I do like regular animation as well.

Jla you've drawn some fabulous pics there :) I must have missed them on Immy. I especially like the difference between the 11 year old and 15 year old Harry - the difference between a Muggle and a Wizard. I also really liked Lupin's eyes in the PoA scene. Lovely.

You should try reading Tokyo Babylon. If you don't like that, then you won't like any kind aof anime or manga. It's ok, though, it's not as if EVERYONE has to like it.
