Chatter and such
Mar. 12th, 2007 02:23 pmQuestion for you Firefly fans- what are your favorite Whedon sites out there? Especially ones that have links pages? I need to contact some Whedon sites for MRFH, and I know there's a ton of them out there. Just looking for places to start.
Is anyone watching American Idol this season? I'm not particularly excited about any of the contestants this year (the best sing in genres I'm not jumping up and down for, although maybe I can get excited about Blake), but I really, really, really feel bad for Sanjaya. It's just so clear the poor kid is in way over his head, and the judges seem furious with him for it. The thing is though- they put him there. I can't believe that they couldn't find someone better (like Matt Buckstein, perhaps). What bothers me about the situation is that Sanjaya clearly knows he's not up there with the other guys, and although he's trying his heart out (and taking criticism awfully well for a 17-year-old kid), he's just too young and inexperienced. I'm very sad that Vote for the Worst has taken him on as their poster child. I don't mind VFTW, really. I can think of several Idol "losers" that are outselling the winners (Clay Aiken, Josh Gracin, Jennifer Hudson, Daughtry....) If you're on the show and you've got talent, someone's going to pick you up. So I don't mind VFTW. But I think the kindest thing they could do to Sanjaya- not the American public but Sanjaya- is to let him go home. Cause this has John Stevens written all over it, and that poor kid was getting death threats. :P
Must stop dragging my feet on my Remix. I did write one of my women ficlets and got started on a second, and wrote a review for An Inconvenient Truth, but my remix is only at 542 words. Actually, more the problem is that all that's done is the introduction. After all, 542 words is well over half of the required 1000. (Me? Stop at 1000? I'm usually just getting going.) Also must post a story in
omniocular.
Maybe I should stop procrastinating and get writing, huh? Yeah. I thought so too.

Date: 2007-03-14 06:01 pm (UTC)What I really wish is that the judges would let the contestants sing songs from this century. Why do they insist on having them sing songs older than most of them? Or, at least, why can't they get someone younger/newer/who's had a top ten hit in the past few years to mentor for a change? I'm glad they're bringing in Gwen Stefani, even if I'm not crazy about her, just because she's not in her fifties for a change!
