Got my remix assignment. It's interesting, because it's one of those that doesn't feel like a random match. The person I got has a very trademark style (at least to me), and it's very complementary to mine. I feel bad because I'm going for the old "POV-switch" technique, but on the other hand, the story I picked works very, very well for doing that and coming up with a whole new story. There are times when you have to go with the tried and true, because it yields much better results than doing something "creative" for creativity's sake.
The funny thing was I was thinking of people I knew in the HP fandom, and already mentally deciding what I was going to do to their stories :) The one that would have been a -blast- would have been to do
krabapple's Mischief Managed from Peter's point of view. But maybe I just like the idea because I totally would have used "Up to No Good" as the title. :) C'mon. You've got to admit it's clever.
Fine. Don't. But there still needs to be more Peter fic. (GOOD Peter fic.)
Anyway, I'll probably start handwriting it over today and tomorrow. Headed out to Ohio for two days for a funeral (thank God hubby's staying home with the baby), so maybe I'll work on it then. If I can tear myself away from Game of Thrones and Clash of Kings, that is. (That might be hard. It's sad that I'm looking forward to the plane ride just so I can get some uninterrupted reading time, but I am.)
The sooner I can get this done, the better, because then I don't get poked with the stick of doom! :) Plus, I've gotta get going on my portion of the article
