It is nice out, and I have a day off from eating hospital, as it's Howard's day to go in and get trained. So, ten awesome and happy things.

1.) I bought carrots and broccoli today. For TOBY to eat. And he asked to try my soup yesterday!!! And we gave in- he watched Star Wars for the first time. ::sniff:: My baby is growing up!

2.) Trevor's still not walking, but that's only because he won't let go of his pushcart. He's SO close. And his giggle should be an awesome thing by itself. I swear I've never seen such a happy baby.

3.) Thanks everyone who's been commenting on Felix Gaeta's Sing-Along Mutiny. This is my first BSG effort where I've cleared two pages of comments :)

4.) I made a comment about the last two BSG episodes being "All My Cylons." It has just dawned on me that you could totally steal the Futurama thing and call it "All My Circuits." I think this needs to be an icon. NOW. :) ([livejournal.com profile] tin_o_biscuits, I swear to God I was tying it at the same time you were!)

5.) My brother, who I am restoring my relationship with, wants to get together to take the kids to an amusement park. Plus, he got a super cool new job.

6.) It's in the 40s today. And sunny.

7.) I've got several pages of Youth's Final Luxury 7 written, including an awesome reasoning for why Tom Zarek calls Hoshi "that little frak." I'm hesitating on going too much further, since it sounds like we'll actually get more Hoshi the last few episodes, and it's not like we have THAT great of an idea of his personality. But I'm not sure how much more of this he's in anyway. But that does make me hold off on the Dee-Hoshi bitchfight fic I'm working on.

8.) I actually cleaned the bathroom. Of course, now my hands smell like the cleaner and I can't get it off, but hey. I DID HOUSEWORK! This is cause for a national holiday.

9.) Neil Patrick Harris was on Sesame Street the other day. Toby's response? "Look, Mommy! Doctor Horrible is talking to Elmo!!!!"

10.) I've also been letting Toby watch the original Battlestar Galactica. He has decided he wants to be Starbuck. I swear to God, I never thought I'd hear myself saying "You want to be like Starbuck? Well then, you'll have to poop on the potty, because Starbuck poops on the potty." (It's not working yet, but it did work to get him to brush his teeth.) Dirk Benedict would be so delighted, I'm sure >:)

Ok. Your happy things list is awesome.

I look forward to more of Youth's Final Luxury. And your son is made of so much win at such a tender age. He's destined for greatness. :)

Your happy things made me happy. Hooray for Toby!

re BSG/Futurama- much of my Calculus class today was spent wondering if I could find BSG screencaps and put Futurama quotes on them. Maaaybe I'll do that now... :D

Yay for Toby! Carrots, broccoli, Star Wars, and Starbuck -- sounds like the good life.

And, Yay for Trevor and almost walking.

And, Yay for you. It's not too often that one gets to put ten things on the Awesome List.

I did BSG/Futurama icons once. Very fun! I didn't think of "All My Circuits" though. :D

Oh, hey, I don't know if you've mentioned it before and I've missed it, but I'm really happy to hear that you're restoring your relationship with your brother! I hope all goes well for you. *hugs*

And in general, it's great to see you so cheerful. :)

:-)
I needed to hear about ten awesome things to compensate for the crappy day I'm having.
Toby sounds like all kinds of toddler-awesomeness. He knows Dr. Horrible? :D And if he's eating carrots and broccoli, he's doing better than me.
It's good to hear that your ficcing is going well. I have two retcons that've completely stalled out. I'm considering posting a chap before the story is finished, which I'd sworn *never* to do again.
The 40's you say? Break out the swimsuits! It's about the same here, and while I usually love winter, I must say it's kind of nice being able to walk to class without any appendages falling off.

Thanks :)

I'm enjoying writing it, although I foresee difficulties coming soon :P I like writing around spaces, and once I get to the actual mutiny, there's a lot of on screen stuff. Never sure how to handle that.

And thanks! Greatness... and geekdom :) It's our way of making sure we don't have any teen pregnancies to deal with. ;)

BTW- where is your icon from? It's neat.

Thanks! :) I'm psyched.

We need to make an "All My Circuits" icon, I think :)

Thanks :) I'm definitely bouncing. I can't wait until Trevor starts finally walking- he's 14 months already! (I'd be more worried, but he's SO close!)

Heh- funny, isn't it? I'm generally a fairly cheerful and happy person, but I think I vent a lot in my journal.

And thanks! I don't think I've mentioned stuff with my brother much recently. It's almost sort of like not wanting to jinx it, y'know?

I like your icon. I am SO READY for summer!

Thanks! And sorry about your crappy day. :P

Yeah, Toby knows Dr. Horrible. He seems to really like musical type songs- I think because the style makes the lyrics so clear. (And he just really likes music.) We've been listening to Dr. Horrible every single day on our way to the hospital. (Thus explaining why the whole Sing-Along Mutiny happened.) And we were so. freaking. bored down there, I finally let him watch it. (You know, the language is fine, except for the "the hammer is my penis" line, which I totally didn't let him hear because then he'd be running around saying "the hammer is my penis" and NO. We also skipped over Penny mostly dying.)

What are you retconning? I look forward to more of your fic- I really enjoyed the Adama-Gaeta stuff you wrote, especially since I feel like that's an area that canon has really neglected.

Well, because he won't. Stop. Haunting me, I'm writing yet another "what if Felix had lived" retcon. This one is getting away from the tragedies and comedies we've seen lately and back into angst (my native genre ;-)). I'm toying with the question of what would have happened had Adama and Co. caught onto the mutiny before it was too late. It could end up being pretty dark.
And then there's a story that's been burning a hole in my hard drive for months now. It goes back to season two and takes a look at the reprecussions for the fleet if Cain had survived. That one's more of an action/adventure type deal. It's also an ensemble fic, which makes things interesting since the cast is so flippin' huge. Gaeta probably won't have much to do in that one, but I'm trying to give him at least a few good scenes.
Dunno when either one of them will be done . . .

That might get tricky, but I'm sure it will be amazing. You could always switch to the other character's point of view when they don't have scenes together. That could be a fun way around it. :)

HA. A masterful plan, ma'am.

Hairspray! I adore that movie.

YUM, broccoli! :-D And I'm assuming that you're starting him out with the original trilogy.

Dude, I want to read the bitchfight!!

"Starbuck poops in the potty" is the funniest thing I've heard in a while! Oh, the things we mothers find ourselves saying...
