Well, we had the ultrasound. Everything looks great, baby is exactly where expected, no notable defects....

And it's a boy!!!!!!

Definitely (99+% positive, they said) a boy. Lupinslittlenephew is on his way! :)

In other news, I'm thinking about defriending remusxsirius just for a little while, until the HBP hubbub dies down. It's just cluttering up my f-list, and it gets depressing. Anyone still watching for really, truly good fic or fic recs that can let me know if something amazing comes along?

As for AiL, I think I have Patroni for the crew... although has JKR ever said your Patronus and your Animagus form are the same? If not, I think Sirius's is a wolf (however, it's not Remus), Lily's is also a wolf (which IS Remus), James's I'm still not sure, and Peter's is an elephant. Just so I can use one silly line that's in my head. ("I don't believe it," Peter scowled. "My Patronus is scared of my Animagus form. How pathetic is that?") If anyone has a good suggestion for James, I'd really appreciate it. I'm thinking he might get a lion or some sort of big cat, just because it's kind of standard, but I'd rather be more creative. I don't consider any of these big spoilers for AiL, because no one's Patronus will be changing inconvienently (because that was kind of gag-worthy).

Oh, Lord, I love that. I really do.

My Peter's Patronus (and it's not one he's had for very long--it's supposed to be a hard spell, after all) is a mongoose. Mongooses aren't big animals, but they're fierce fighters and brilliant at surviving. And mongooses are the natural enemies of snakes--which fits my Peter, who hates and fears Voldemort in equal measure.

I always thought James' Patronus would be something...big and proud. I don't know how that transfers to the animal kingdom, but I don't picture a cat, because cats are too sly, too mysterious. Maybe a bear? Then his Patronus could eat his Animagus. :)

I like the mongoose for Peter as well! The fun of fanfic- there's so many good ideas. A mongoose does fit very perfectly.

Bingo. Okay, so I write Remus having his Patronus be Sirius's Animagus form. But NOT because of their relationship, but because of what WPP did for him in becoming Animagi. And his Patronus stays. End of story, with me, until we get new canon. I wonder what Tonks's was before?

We haven't discussed it too seriously, but I'm leaning heavily towards Tobias. We both really, really, really like the name Toby. I HAD said no HP names, because I don't like the names JKR likes (they're either too out there, like Sirius, or too old-fashioned, like Ron, for me), so I nearly screamed when she used Tobias, but it's such a minor character.... And I really like Toby. We want something unusual without being wierd.

Yeah, I think I need to avoid some comms for a while, as well as FAP. I adored Tonks in OotP, and while I didn't appreciate what JKR did to her, I don't want Tonks to die or anything. I just want her to have her old spark back and not be so rude as to bring up romance right after the man she claims to love loses his biggest hero. Other than that... (no one will ever convince me that requited Tonks/Lupin was happening in OotP, because he never would have left her lying on the floor in the DoM for Moody to revive if it was. Sorry, but that's true.)
