Whew, what a weekend (in a good way). The 'rents were here, which was nice. And my stepfather was in a good mood the entire time, which made it even nicer. My mom spoiled the boys rotten, and they are exhausted. She also spoiled us rotten, as she took the boys and we went out to dinner and a movie on Friday. I have now caught up with the rest of the world and seen Star Trek, and it was awesome. My cousin and his family came over on Saturday, and my mom and I went shopping yesterday. I am beat.

I also posted Part 3 of A Lot to Live Up To on Thursday. I haven't written too much of this chapter yet (eep!), but it's also mainly the New Caprica rescue. Which I'm of two minds about. On the one hand, it's vital to the plot, because of some important reasons, and because- y'know, destruction of the Pegasus, Lee in command, Dee having Issues, yada yada yada. On the kind of bummer side, I really want to get to a certain point in the story, and this isn't it. Oh well. :) Also, I want to kick Lee. At least we're almost done with the Fat Lee phase. It's not at all that Lee is fat in that section- I really don't give a shit about that. It's that he's whiny and annoying and cowardly. Of course, then eventually we get into him being unfaithful. Did I mention before I don't like Lee?

I also signed up to do bsg_bigbang. I'm crazy, I know. But I figured I can do my AU with that one.

We need to post a remix reminder in a few days, too. One month to go! (Which also means I'd better write my own.) Plus, we need to post submission guidelines and stuff like that. I'm really curious to see the resultant fics from this challenge. I'm betting there's going to be some really good stuff. Plus, I need to finish my ficlets (I did five!), write a review of Star Trek, and a few other things.

That said, I suppose I should stop typing here and go back to Lee actually complaining about Hoshi. Did I mention how much I dislike Lee??????

Heh, I sometimes feel very alone in this :) And I like Lee better at other times. But in his marriage to Dee... I don't. I just don't. ::sigh::

Thanks. And I know! I'm cracking. I'm a good five pages into it (they're usually 10-15 pages long.) And at least I know where it's going, although this one's full of technobabbly military talk :P

Yeah, once I get the idea that Crazy8 kidnaps the Raptor (I decided the whole Raptor, because I have Plans for Pilot 8 as well), I figured I can play with lots of other stuff I wasn't crazy about. And I can leave poor Sam unshot!!!! :)

Frak, I got rid of my fat!Lee mocking icon in a fit of post-Daybreak sympathy for the loser. ;) But yeah, the only reason I didn't hate him during that dark and terrible time was that it was so obvious the writers hated him enough for both of us!

Yeah, Lee did improve in Revelations onward. But NC... ARGH! And writing him from Dee's perspective.... that makes it even worse.

Oh, Lee. I think my biggest beef with Lee is not that he fraks things up, because everybody does that, or even the whining, because a lot of them do that, too (although none as well or as much as Lee), but that he pretty much never has to face up to and apologize for having been an ass. That's most likely why I think politics is such an excellent fit for him, too. (He's picking on Hoshi? Slap Lee upside the head for me, will you? :) ).

Wow, time is sure flying re the remix. That means I should be at least half way done, and I'm...not. It's coming along pretty well, but I need to kick it in to high gear, I think.

Hoshi totally started it, and deserved a lot worse than Lee whining about it. Except that Adama is totally cheering for Hoshi now. I'm totally getting why Adama gave Hoshi his Admiral pins. And I agree with your assessment of Lee.

It is flying! I can't do it this week, because I'm behind on this chapter, but next week, I really need to move it. Eek!

::grin:: I think at some point I made a post about the idea- I forget. It might have been in comments. I've got some of it fleshed out, but not all. It's kind of scary :)

That's Dee. She's spunky, dignified, caring, utterly competent, and for the first season (and whenever she's allowed to be for the rest of it) is totally awesome. And she is so, so, so, so very pretty. She's a more major character than Racetrack above is, but she's still awesome for the ficcing.

And the woman in the red is the President of the Colonies, and THE major character. If you cannot admit she is hot, then you are either a.) dead or b.) sorry, still dead. That's what I want to be when I grow up. And although you can't see it in this picture because they're hiding the joints behind their backs, she and the Admiral are totally getting stoned. (I'm also not joking about that.)

See? Many extremely hot, extremely strong female characters. And I haven't even gone anywhere near Starbuck.... (she's a blonde anyway, and if I remember, you're more partial to the brunettes.)
