Wow. It was great to see this after seeing the snippet you posted last week. The part where I was riveted was the bone marrow aspiration. Poor Hoshi! He was so strong and Dee so attuned to him. Cancer! Wow.
I like that he picks up on her grief over losing the pregnancy. That seems right. Oh, and there was one very subtle part that got to me too. The opening with her and Lee and when their masks slip back into place. Lee could have been the one to comfort her but no. I don't know why she pulled back but she did.
You are really good at those moments between people. Just describing how one person reacts in the moment and observes another. It's been fun reading your stories. I have hope for these two. :-)
