I really liked Lee in this chapter. He's been so unlikable at the beginning (it's such an unfortunate time for him), it's actually quite a relief to see him back to his old self. I love his scenes in this chapter. You can feel he's trying so hard, and after all the worry that he might react badly to the pregnancy, it was heartbreaking to see that he, too, grasped the scope of the miscarriage. Still, he's unable to say the right thing. I've dealt with people who didn't know how to be comforting a lot in my life, and it felt very real for me. That's probably why the fact that Felix doesn't even know what happened gets to me. I doubt Felix would be very good at comforting Dee. It's sad to think that he doesn't even get a chance to try, and if he did, it still wouldn't work. Though I realize you didn't set that up at all, and I'm projecting. ;)
I very much like the changes you made, too, which is of course unsurprising since you're just that good and I'm just that biased. ;) It's just a shame that I couldn't fully appreciate this chapter since I knew the backstory in advance, so the surprise was lost.
