Yes. I have 18/19 pages written already. And to be honest, I am loving Jurgen. He's... oh my God, I love him.
Scene:
"I am ready to start, you know." Louis was dangling upside down off the couch, flipping through a manual. "I know they said-"
"No," Jurgen said. "Not for another two months." He adjusted his uniform jacket, and peered into the mirror.
"I'm up to five miles," Louis said.
"And they'll make you run ten in basic. Louis, it's great you're so willing, but just listen to the doctor's instructions on this one, okay?"
"All right." Louis sighed and tossed the manual down onto the floor.
"You have any appointments tomorrow?"
"Just the psychologist." He sighed. "Just as well. The store is never going to let me keep my job if I keep having to change my shifts. Where are you going, anyway?"
"I," Jurgen said, smiling into the mirror, "have a date tonight."
"I won't wait up," Louis said, rolling his eyes good-naturedly. "Should I make myself scarce by a certain time?"
"No, not for this one. She'll want to see you."
"She'll want to see me?"
"Sure. Rika asks after you any time I talk to her."
Louis sat up slowly. "Rika? The nurse from the hospital?"
"The very same." Jurgen brushed a lock of hair into place. "I've been seeing her for a few months now."
His stomach was gone, replaced by a huge gaping hole. "Really?"
"Well, as best I can with me on a battlestar and her on world. You okay?"
Louis nodded. "Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine. Tell her I said hi."
"If you stay up-"
"We'll see."
"Okay then." Jurgen grinned at him once more and then headed for the door. "See you later."
Louis stared as the door closed behind him.
Well, frak. This was about as unwelcome a revelation as the cancer itself.
