Ahem. Okay then. For those of you not into remix,
I got Dragon Wars: D-War (Realistic Projection Remix), which is a remix of The Stories We Tell. I have to be honest- The Stories We Tell (which is the one where Gaeta, Billy, the Tighs, Cavil, and Cottle all play D&D with Baltar as a DM) was NOT a story I expected to see remixed. I was thinking something like Gaeta's POV in A Touch of Your Grace, or the Four's POV in Honor and Duty. If you'd asked me, I just would have blown over The Stories we Tell, because it's kind of cracky and is just a bunch of people sitting around being geeks.
My remixer is apparently more creative than I am :)
I won't tell you any more about the story except to say 1.) I laughed a lot, 2.) it's well done, 3.) whoever wrote this does an excellent job in grounding crack in "reality", and 4.)
The interesting thing about having a BSG fic remixed this time is I literally have No. Clue. as to who would have written it. I'm most familiar with the work of the Gaeta girls, and I'm pretty sure I'm the only one doing the big remix. (Also? I hope my poor remixer doesn't hate Gaeta, or she probably cried when she saw my fic list.) Plus, remix seems to be a challenge where people play with fandoms or revisit old ones or whatever. I mean, I'm crappy at guessing, anyway- I've only REALLY ever guessed once, when Theregoesmygun remixed a fic of mine, because who else would turn Sirius into Howard Hughes? But yeah, no clue, and I can't wait to find out.
Mine is either REALLY obvious or not obvious at all, depending on a few things. Although it's not like
I got to go shopping yesterday, too. It was nice, but a little frustrating. For the past I don't know how many summers I've been looking for one thing- a cotton sundress that I can wear casually that doesn't have spaghetti straps and doesn't make me look pregnant. Preferably in the 24.99 range. Why is this so hard to find??? I ended up finding one yesterday that met two out of the three (it was $40), but good God, does it have to be so hard? (Also, signs I wish I was able to go to D-con- that was the first thing I thought when I tried it on. "If I was going, I'd wear this to D-con." It's just really cute and comfy.) But it was nice to go shopping for me, and I stayed out of the kids' stores :)
Hubby and I are rewatching Band of Brothers. God, that's a great series. But man- it had been driving me CRAZY where I'd seen one of the guys before- Joe? He's Charlie on Fringe. NOT what I expected to find. (If I ship Olivia with anyone on Fringe, it's Charlie.)
Suppose I should get writing- I have ALTLUT to work on, and my notebook so I can continue typing out my outline for bigbang. Not to mention maybe I should write another review soon! (Eep!)
