Oooh.

Morton's is not a place I normally patronize. In fact, I've never been to one, although there is one in the King of Prussia mall. For those not in the know, it's a very pricey steakhouse. I'm not sure how pricey, because they usually don't put their prices on any posted menu, including their web one. (Yeah. That pricey.) My husband's best friend wanted to take him there for dinner last year for my husband's fortieth birthday, but he refused because the bill for dinner for four would have easily come to 400-500 dollars after we got wine, and although they wouldn't have expected it, it made him uncomfortable that we couldn't return the favor on his buddy's birthday a few months later.

However, Morton's is now having a deal: 2 salads, 2 steak entries, 2 seafood entries, potato, vegetable, and 2 desserts for $99. That's actually a pretty good deal. Granted, the menu as far as the steak, seafood, and dessert is fairly limited, but I'd expect that, and they have the things I'd go for anyway. (Actually, I'm not a seafood eater, which could be a problem, but we could always box up that portion and bring it home for Howard to eat the next day.) It's worth considering, especially since that's pretty much what we'd pay any other nice place we went, and Howard's birthday is this month.

I'm also going to the Cheesecake Factory on Saturday. I'm sooooo excited, mainly because I'm going with my two best mom friends, and we're leaving the kids with the husbands. I can eat without having to say "take a bite!" every 30 seconds! I can eat without Trevor tugging on my sleeve and begging for my meal like a puppy dog! We can have a conversation without yelling at the three older ones to stop throwing things at each other or to share and without the three younger ones bursting into tears! AND we get to eat good food and cheesecake. Yeah, I am SO looking forward to this. I haven't had a girls' day in AGES. And maybe we'll go shopping afterwards. ::sighs happily:: I still haven't seen Harry Potter 6, but to be honest, this sort of opportunity comes up so rarely and HP will be out on DVD by Christmas I imagine... I'd rather have the girl time.

I promised the boys I'd take them to the park/creek today, and of course, thunderstorms are slated. Fortunately, they're slated for this afternoon, and we always go in the morning. Here's to hoping they'll hold off until then. I purposefully did not give the boys a bath last night or take a shower myself today in anticipation of playing in the creek (we always all need one after that.)

ALTLUT 13 is at the beta, btw. It should be up today or tomorrow at the latest. I keep thinking "two more chapters!" and I keep finding myself taking longer than I planned, because there's events I forgot about or as I write them, I discover I need to say more than I thought I did (like Starbuck's death, and how that actually drives a wedge between Lee and Dee). But I at least got through Lee being on Lampkin's security patrol.
