Holy. Fucking. SHIT.
I did NOT see Whiskey/Claire/whoever shooting Bennett coming AT ALL. The last time I gaped at my TV like this, Tom Zarek had the Quorum killed. Whoa.
I DID see Boyd being the mastermind coming, but only because I cottoned on five minutes before. I said, "hey, wait a minute, if the higher ups have more than one consciousness running around, I wonder if there's another Paul." Then a minute later, said "or Boyd. It could be Boyd." And then two minutes later, they did the reveal.
Bennett/Topher is TOTALLY my Dollhouse OTP.
Boyd really fucked with Claire then, huh? Oh, wow, this gets WARPED when I start unraveling ideas.
They are totally headed for Epitaph One, aren't they, with the finale being Epitaph Two and the resolution of Epitaph One? DEPRESSING.
Like, seriously. DEPRESSING.
On a critical note, the pace of the entire thing seems rushed to me, and Joss is basically sketching out his five year plan here in as few episodes as possible. Which I don't really mind per se, just... I'm feeling it.
But whoa. What an episode.

Date: 2010-01-09 03:17 am (UTC)There are all sorts of crazy implications about tonight's episosde, aren't there? Especially involving Claire. I want to know whether she is aware on any level of who Boyd really is, any part of her.
Also, holy crap, how damn sneaky is Boyd? I find myself stuck in that stupid Adam Sandler movie, "YOU UNDERESTIMATE THE SNEAKINESS." I'm thinking back to the... what, second episode where he and Echo were fighting for their lives. That makes that episode something else entirely. Oh my god.
I agree, it does feel like they're flying through their ideas, but I don't mind. The urgency is working, if Epitaph One quickly impending.

Date: 2010-01-09 03:27 am (UTC)Bennett/Topher 4EVER!!!
Now that I'm not so discombobulated, I also really appreciate the full flashbacks. I get why Bennett was so pissed at Caroline now, and yet I feel for both of them a lot more than I felt for *either* of them when we saw the first little flashback. And I even kind of get why Dominic was always trying to kill Echo earlier--he had experience with Caroline being major trouble all along.
Yeah, I can feel the rushing of the story, too, but it's mind-blowing enough that I'm okay with it. But yeah, there were about four spots in this episode where I thought, "that would have been a whole episode with a WTF ending in and of itself, wouldn't it?" But you know a show is good when you spend a good deal of the hour yelping at your TV set in shock.

I felt the pacing was better in this one than in the last four but maybe I'm just getting used to it.
Hee! I was shipping Caroline/Bennett. Slash has a total hold on me. ;-)
But seriously, Boyd can't be evil? Can he?

Date: 2010-01-09 06:20 pm (UTC)But now we know why Saunders never left the Dollhouse; she's programmed to wait for Boyd forever,if need be.....And DAMN, Adelle cool as a cucumber while guys are getting shot in her office.
But Boyd's been doing stuff to bring down the Dollhouse right along...hasn't he? Wasn't it he who was sending Ballard the stuff? Or was that Adelle, or Dominic, or even Saunders? OMG, this show is going out in a blaze of acronyms.
