I somehow stumbled onto the Princess Diaries books; I started with #2 (I have a terrible history of reading series out of order) and still have not read a few of the ones in the middle, but I really love the funny, thoughtful fluff when I'm in that mood. :) She's a strong environmentalist and animal-rights activist, too!
(Btw, have you ever read the historical romance novel Mia "wrote"? That was kind of fun, too, to read a book by a fictional author.)
