This is a much better version than canon. The addition of Zarek, Hoshi, Narcho, and Felix just make this version sing. It works in a way that canon different. I like Felix's mind scape during the story. Stuck on New Caprica and everything that went wrong even before the Cylon's came. The tension between Tigh, Adama, and Felix is wonderful. Little bits I adored - Narcho's crush on Dee, the fact that Narcho and the Pegasus pilots are clearly a good friends to Felix, the on-going tension between Roslin and Zarek, and the playfulness between Hoshi & Felix.
That little bit where Tigh says that they should have helped him and Felix couldn't look at him - you could just feel the tension. It was so good that he finally seemed to look past what happened on New Caprica just a little bit. Also, I liked that you substituted the Helo-Adama reconciliation scene with a Zarek-Felix one. It works for the mutiny arc bringing Felix and Zarek into orbit and emphasizing that Adama doesn't even realize that he needs to reconcile with Felix.
