Okay. I guess it was purgatory? which is what I've figured all along.

Anyway, I still don't get the plot at all, but I think I gave that up when they began time travel. What I WILL say is that if you're going to make a finale "it's about the characters, stupid!", that's the way to do it.

So, plotwise, F. Feel-good character moments, A. Not the best finale I've ever seen in my life, but I had lost faith that it ever would be.

I actually just had a discussion with my dad about this. We're thinking that only Sideways World was purgatory whereas the Island is just . . . a really freaky part of the "real world." Yeah, if I could make sense of it, it wouldn't be Lost. *shrugs*

Charlie and Claire reunited! *squishes*

Haven't they been insisting since, like, before the show ever started that it WASN'T purgatory? @@ (caveat: I broke up with the show in season 3.)

Glad to hear that they did right by the characters.

CHARLIE AND CLAIRE??? MY OTP OF ADORABLE LOVE AND ACCENTS!

Ok it's official I need to watch seasons 4-6 JUST FOR THAT.

(I've stopped being concerned about spoilers for this show a looooong time ago.)

Was it emotionally satisfying though? Honestly that's what I was hoping for out of it. BSG didn't deserve feel good by the end, but I had wanted LOST to be.

Was there Boone? Was he cute? Did the death order have anything to do with how quickly they got over their deep-seated issues?

I think you're right. The sideways world is purgatory, and as each person died on the island, they "woke up" in the purgatory world. Or something like that.

But yes! Charlie and Claire! I teared up for that! (ANd for Shannon and Sayid.)

I'm so lost on it, I'm not sure I get it. Maybe the island wasn't purgatory, but they definitely used a purgatory idea.

I can understand why you broke up with it. Your icon FITS.

There was Boone. He was cute. I'm not sure about the death order or anything- it wasn't quite like what I thought, which was "once you resolve your issues you die and go to heaven or go to hell", but yeah.

Emotionally satisfying? I was, but I think I was just sort of happy it was over.

Interestingly, we didn't break up over the WTFery (though it sounds like it got worse). It was because I DON'T CARE about Jack, Kate, or Sawyer.
