Well, hubby took pics of how the nursery is coming along, and they can be found here. They're on his homepage, which we mainly use to show my mom what our house is/was looking like, so there's also pictures of our bedroom and one of the bathrooms there as well. I'm REALLY pleased with the wild syringa and the giraffe; the zebra still looks a little funny. But he's clearly a zebra. I'm just trying to think of what I'm going to put in one more corner (on the other side of the window.) I'm not sure much will end up going there, but if anyone has any suggestions, love to hear them! We need to add birds as well. The changing table goes along the wall under the tree, so I'm not going to add anything there.

Hope everyone has been having a great weekend- off to watch Chicken Run now that we've watched The Great Escape!

This is probably a dumb question, but what the heck is a "syringa"? Is that the tree?

Ha! The nursery pics are awesome! I also love the walls in your bathroom. Is that paint or paper?

I love the giraffe! And the tree! And Zebra is very cute! Your house looks gorgeaous. And I look like a person who lacks use for exclamation points.

I am biased against any sort of kids room.

It could be because I am lazy... So much work for a kid who at first probably can’t care less, then gets scared because the zebra is looking at him, and then outgrows it and wants cars? Pfft...

It could be because I am bitter...My mommie didn’t paint me a zebra room. I slept in the TV-Dining room until I was 7...or something, and then my mother wanted another kid, so we got a 2 bedroom place, and uh, they made a nursery. And they stuck me and by baby sister in it until I was 11 or something way too old to be sleeping in my sister’s nursery. Either way, I can’t make an unbiased comment about your zebra. But despite my biases...I can say the giraffe’s pretty nice.

Ah--I am avoiding the point.

...

The point is...and otherwise I wouldn't comment...as a ghost hunting/demonology geek from way back...your bedroom is covered in spirit orbs. It's not a bad thing...just so you know.

Wow, you've got one lucky little baby on it's way, you know that?
The zebra's great, leave him be. You've just been staring at him for too long, s'all.

The baby's room looks terrific! I am totally in awe (again) of your art. :) When you first explained it to me, I had my doubts, but wow!

Thanks! The bathroom is paper. It was a major pain in the butt. For one, it's only a half-bath, so it's a tiny room. No space... and 9 foot ceilings. For two, there is a subtle pattern on there, and hubby managed to match it up. He said it was a massive headache. (I went out for the day when he wallpapered. There wasn't enough room for us to do it together!) And for three, it shrinks just a tiny bit when it dries, and showed the white seams beneath. We took a red magic marker and went over the seams. :) We are never wallpapering again!

Heh. Not a dumb question. Yup, it's the tree. The only reason I know that is I have a site that has pictures of African trees and birds and animals, and it has the names of the trees on it. Otherwise, I would have called it "one of those big flat trees that you see in Africa." And I used the proper name simply because there's someone on my flist that used to live in South Africa and I wanted to impress her with my knowledge ;)

Either that or the camera lens is spotty.

Thanks :) I hope he think he's lucky, too!

And the funny thing is, I do think the zebra looks better in person. Hubby took the picture from an odd angle. Oh well!

thanks! :) Yeah, it doesn't come across clearly in words at first, does it? We've kind of gotten a lot of "oookaay" looks, but now that people are seeing it....

The wierd thing is everyone expected me to decorate in Harry Potter. Um, for a baby? No. Harry Potter is WAY too advanced. I wouldn't even do Lion King because I figured then he'd want to see the movie before we were ready for him to see it. (As much as I still think Mufasa's death was important and should have been portrayed (although I'll agree with you on other parent deaths), I also think the movie should have a PG rating and kids should be ready to watch it before you show it to them. 2-3 years old ain't ready!)

Yeah, or light reflected off dust, or problems with the development...but most likely...spirit orbs.

Ah, thanks for enriching my vocabulary! (And cute room, of course -- I love the way the syringa angles around the corner.)

I really like your nursery. The animals look wonderful. I also really like your bathroom. This page: http://www.awf.org/wildlives/ lists some African animals that might help you figure out what to put on the other wall.

I've been to her house. It's the least occult house on the planet. No spirit orbs. Ayn Rand novels, yes. Spirit orbs, no.

Would you care if I took the spirit orb pictures? Maybe make up a story to go with them? I can understand if you don't want your bedroom on some lame ghost hunting forum with an obviously fake story about mysterious-goings on, so feel free to say "No".

And I went to a ghost hunting meeting yesterday, and they had 1, maybe 2 spirit orbs tops. And a lot of fingers in front of the camera that could have been ghosts. I would rule there.

Thanks! And thanks for the link!

African animals are really neat. I don't even know what half of them are until I click the link. Heh. I hadn't seen that one though, so thank you!

Yeah, no offense, but I'd rather pictures of our bedroom aren't floating around the internet. Sorry! But good luck finding other pictures!
