Because it's been a rough week already... and I had fun with some of these. All of them, actually.
All are completely gen, so no warnings apply.

jlarinda, who wanted Young James and his father
"I don't like them," nine-year-old James declared as he studied his reflection in the mirror.
"I know you don't. But you'll get used to it," his father said sympathetically.
"Can't we use magic to fix it instead?"
"There are some things magic can't fix, I'm afraid." Timothy Potter reached down and ruffled his son's hair. "But I wear them too, and it's not so bad. You'll see. You'll actually be able to see the ball when we play Quidditch."
James pushed his new glasses up his nose. "When I have a son, I'll never make him wear these dumb things."

yma2, who wanted Remus and Hagrid
"Well, look at ya."
Remus grinned as he saw the giant of a man who herded the terrified first years through the entrance. "Hello, Hagrid. It's been a long time."
"You've grown up, Remus."
"I guess. You look good. I hear you're the new Care of Magical Creatures professor."
Hagrid beamed with pride. "I am. Great man, Dumbledore. Knows what he's doing."
"I hope so." Unconsciously, Remus glanced down to where the Dementors were keeping guard. Hagrid followed his gaze, and his expression darkened.
"Glad yer safe here at Hogwarts," he said, clapping Remus on the shoulder. "Glad yer safe."

"I can't believe how many hits you get if you type in MRFH," Justin mused, scrolling down the screen.
"What's that one?" Kyle pointed to summary, and Justin obligingly clicked on the link.
The site that came up was black, with booger-green letters and badly-done photo manipulations. There were links to stories, many of which were marked "R" or "NC-17".
"Oh no," Lissa said, glancing at Sue, who was staring in horror.
"Is this some sort of divine retribution?"
"What is it?" Pooly asked, leaning around a horror-stricken Nancy and Shalen to see.
Drew whimpered. "Mutant Reviewers from Hell slash."
(What, don't you find that creepy???)

poolman, A serious one of the above
The television was blaring. Anna walked in just in time to see a woman being led to the car in handcuffs, hands covering her face. "What's happening?"
"They found a terrorist cell," Kevin answered.
Anna's eyes widened. "Isn't that Abia?"
Kevin studied the picture. "Guess it is," he grunted. Anna's heart fell through her stomach and the world tilted. She'd never thought that Abia would be involved in something like this. There had to be some mistake, some explanation, some-
Kevin grunted as the newscaster read out a list of suspected activities. "People like that always get what they deserve."
(Not sure if that's what you had in mind for creepy, but there's all sorts of things in that one that scare me.)

He polished it with a rag, making the material gleam in the semi-darkness. He paid special attention to the eyeholes, and where the mouth would be. It was a beautiful thing, a sign of the old values and pureblood pride. He ran his hands over it lovingly and then put it with his other treasures.
From the shelf above, pictures looked down at him with approval. The House of Black was proud of their youngest son, which was more than you could say about nasty blood traitors.
Master Regulus might be gone, but Kreacher wasn't going to let him go.

"Key."
Sirius handed James the key.
"Cloak."
"I don't have it."
James glared back at Sirius. "You were supposed to!"
"I don't! Remus, don't you have it?"
"I told Peter to grab it."
"I did!" Peter hissed.
"Well, bloody hell. How are we supposed to sneak into Professor Flitwick's stock without the cloak? You know he gets the Grey Lady to keep an eye on it."
"I don't know, I told you I-"
"Looking for something, gentlemen?" an amused voice asked. The boys turned to see Professor Dumbledore, eyes twinkling, holding up a piece of silvery-gray fabric in the moonlight.

Date: 2006-02-01 05:19 pm (UTC)And yeah- I will cry if I ever see MRFH slash. The idea of real people fiction just REALLY creeps me out, unless it's something like Amadeus or a historical alternate reality or something like that. (Or Colin Firth's cameo in Bridget Jones 2, which amused me to no end.) But stuff like that is out there, and it is scary, scary, scary. (At least to me.)
