My Rent Review has been posted at MRFH. Yay!
A few months ago, I think it was
musesfool expressed her annoyance at not being listed in the
rs_prophet. Can I just say how much I understand right now? The update for Accidentally In Love wasn't listed in my own ship's newsletter. (It was on Hogwarts Today though, so I won't bitch too much.) But still. My own ship!
Argh.
Oh well. I just feel like venting in a bit of a bitchy way this morning. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I may nurture a tiny amount of resentment about this.

Date: 2006-05-08 07:15 pm (UTC)Actually, it was funny- I realized that in Chapter 11, Remus and Sirius have one scene together. That's it. Kind of funny, actually- and yeah, AIL is rapidly becoming more and more gen.

Date: 2006-05-08 07:40 pm (UTC)It's not so much that it's weird, it's that they're completely inconsistent, both with posting an issue and with what they include. I had a fic recced in there back in March, and it's certainly not a "They don't rec ME! *pout*" complaint that I have with them. Mostly I tend to be stunned at the fics/art written/drawn by others that don't get mentioned, and the 'quality' of some that do.
It's not even a weekly publication, and considering that R/S is a decent sized ship, you'd think they'd post more issues per month. I see rarepair newsletters that post more frequently. Sure, there's 'editor's discretion' about what gets posted, but the way the newletter is run, it simply doesn't serve the community that it was created to serve.
And the fact that it was on hiatus for two months or so during the secret santa fests where there were a lot of R/S stories being posted... I know one of the girls had real life issues that kept her from being online, and another sort of lost interest in the ship and got involved in another fandom, but if you run the thing, you find other people to join the 'staff' if you can't do it yourself. Otherwise, what's the point in having a newsletter? Just so you can say you mod yet another comm?
I don't volunteer because I don't really have the time or patience to devote to it, and also because I'm not particularly fond of a certain person who shall remain nameless. I don't really know her, but what I do know of her... well, it's not like everyone has to like everyone else or agree with their opinions anyway. Just as I don't expect everyone to agree with mine.
I just look at other newsletters which are done so well, and then compare it to the R/S one, and... Heh.
