Guess who finished her paper???? WHOOHOO and YES!!!!!!!!!!! Granted, it's really a rough draft. Hubby's going to read it over this weekend, and then I have to send it to my former bosses. I have three former bosses- my direct supervisor, my CRIS supervisor, and the research group leader (can you tell I used to work for the government?) All three of them have to make their edits. (Well, the two are co-authors anyway.) Want to bet that at least two of them make contradictory edits? (It's so happened before.)

I'm done my paper. YES!

That sounds like the cue for a small child to take the hard drive to pieces and then be sick on the only remaining hard copy. Not that you have a small child handy, or anything!

Yeah for completing a draft of your paper!

Shouldn't that bet be guess how many contradictory edits there are rather than if there will be contradictory edits? :)

Happy, happy Friday!

Congratulations. I am with Brieza, the bet should be on how many contradictory edits, not if there will be any.

Congratulations!

I love reading about your paper-writing and editing committee and all that; it reminds me of my previous job for a government scientific research institute. Thanks for bringing up good memories! :)

Thanks!

I hate paper by committee. And I often wonder if I'm the one writing it, why are some of their names on it????

LOL! Doesn't it, though??? Fortunately,

a.) Hubby and former boss both have copies now, pluss there's a hard copy (which Toby WOULD eat if I let him), and

b.) Toby's not mobile, which means he can't get to the hard drive.

Hmmm. Now that I've typed that he'll start crawling tomorrow.

Just you wait till he is... my friend at work says that the little known Baby Laws come into effect.

I. A baby can reach up to three times his height.
II. Babies' arms can extend up to eleven feet.
III. A crawling baby is everywhere at once.

Heh. My favorite is when someone who just contributes a reagent, demands full authorship. Then there was that Nature paper that had 104 authors just for decoding a yeast chromosome...
