Breaking the Silence!
Aug. 15th, 2006 08:53 pmYou've probably figured this out by now, but I SUCK at this anonymous thing. But now I can talk, because
reversathon authors have been revealed. YAY!!!!
I was the sicko in much need of counseling that wrote Let the Water Hold You Down. Peter-gen (with assorted background pairings), AU, and not the most cheerful of pieces (PG-13 to R for violence). But it's probably one of the best things I ever wrote. I wrote for
krabapple, apparently, who requested a study of the First War, with James/Lily, Remus/Sirius, Frank/Alice, etc. If she hadn't included the line about AU, I think I would have cried, or possibly asked for a different assignment, because what she asked for was Accidentally In Love. Heh. But AU I went, and thanks to
gehayi,
topaz_eyes, and most especially
snorkackcatcher for letting me bounce ideas off you guys, and in the last case the excellent beta job.
soleta wrote Welsh Greens for me, and you know you want to read it because here's the summary: Harry, Ron, and Hermione pull a fast one on Tonks and she finds herself in Romania, taking up a life of crime. Fortunately, she has Charlie Weasley to help. It's as cool as it sounds and very well written, and PG-13 at the most. Definitely a fun fic, and now I have a new author I need to read.
I've been listing gen fics and R/S fics (plus a few others), but I haven't put together an official rec list yet. I mean, everything I've read has been good, but the stuff that stands out just a little bit more, y'know? (Although major thumbs up to
midnitemaraud_r for her fic, cause it was AWESOME. And same with Cooking With Love, which is by someone I've never heard of but who did a kick-ass job.) Anyway, I'm likely to do a DVD commentary of Let the Water Hold You Down, because there is SO much I want to say about it. (I am really, really, really, really, REALLY happy with this fic.) But I should also go eat dinner.
Mmmm. Dinner.
