Aug. 31st, 2006 08:18 amIn total girlie news, I now have Kaylee hair!
Yes, I've finally figured out how I want my hair to look after getting it cut yesterday. I had a good six inches chopped off (I haven't had my hair cut since Toby was born- before, really), and she added layers. And it hit me that as it grows out just a bit, it will be like Kaylee's. Or close. This is good. I love Kaylee's hair.
Also, one of my best friends is coming for the weekend tomorrow night. Like me, she's a total foodie, so I'm making a good dinner tomorrow. Tomato and mozzerella salad, salt-roasted porterhouse, mashed potatoes with garlic cream, and a tart of some sort. (And we're breaking out the Clos Pegas wine. Mmmmmmmmmmmm.) Question is, what sort of tart?
I have two recipes:
1.) Milky Way Tart. Chocolate shortbread crust, homemade caramel filling, and a whipped chocolate mousse on top.
2.) Chocolate custartd tart. Almond cookie crust, deep rich chocolate custard filling, and a scoop of Haagan Daaz on the top.
They're both about the same amount of work for me, they both make 6 4.5 inch tarts, and they're probably similar in calorie count (i.e., high).

Date: 2006-09-01 12:11 pm (UTC)That does sound good, but believe it or not, despite 7 years of grad school, neither my husband nor I drink coffee. Amazing, no? Just don't care for it. (But thanks for the suggestion!) And I'm really looking forward to looking through some of your other recipes!

Date: 2006-09-01 12:49 pm (UTC)As for the LJ, I update it sporadically, sometimes with recipes I've tried, sometimes with ones that I want to keep on hand because they sound good.
I believe in fully annotated recipes, though, so if you ever try one and have comments/changes/tricks, feel free to leave a comment on the post! :)
