I should be writing other stuff, but I can't resist. Gakked from [livejournal.com profile] snorkackcatcher and [livejournal.com profile] a_t_rain...

1. Are you going to look at every possible spoiler you can before the book comes out? Did you with HBP and how accurate were the ones you saw?

I don't know. I'll probably say no and then look anyway, because I can't resist. But maybe not. I'm going to try to resist. I saw a lot of spoilers for HBP, and the most accurate ones were the ones two days or less before the release.

2. What will you do if Amazon (or whoever;) don't deliver your copy on time, and everyone is reading it except you?

Freak out. :) I won't be able to read it all right away anyway.

3. Will you read the last chapter before anything else? Are you planning to read the book all in one go or are you a slow reader?

I will try to read it all in one go and will probably fail. But I will probably peek at the last chapter, just to see if Harry lives.

4. What's your theory on the meaning of "Deathly Hallows?"

I'm with [livejournal.com profile] snorkackcatcher- it's where the Horcruxes are.

5. What's the craziest Harry Potter theory you've got, which you could only share with your trusted f-list?

Mine aren't too crazy. The best one I've got is Peter's hand can't transform.

6. If you could write in a sub-plot of your own choosing to the main Harry one, what would it be?

Believe it or not, nothing to do with Remus or Sirius. Something with Percy. I want resolution with Percy.

7. Who do you think will die in the book, and who would you be most upset to see die, even if you don't think it's likely?

The second first: RON. PLEASE don't kill Ron, JKR! Anyone else I can handle. Seriously. But Not. Ron!!!!!!!

My Death List:

Voldemort (a given)
Snape
Peter
Possibly Harry or Neville
Lots of minor characters
Fred or George, but not both
Arthur

I'm giving Remus a 50-50 shot. Honestly? I think he was the one who got the reprieve. Remus's arc works with both his death (all of MWPP killed off), or with him living (Remus as The Survivor). Him hooking up with Tonks hints to me that JKR was going to kill him off, but then changed her mind.

8. Name three main (ish) characters who you think will definitely live and why. Is there a very minor character(s) you really want to have a happy ending?

Hermione: I can't see what point her death would make.
Draco: After the last book, I'm totally betting on it.
Fleur: Must give Weasley grandchild named Harry or whatever-Weasley-croaks.

Very minor character I want a happy ending for? Hmmm. Firenze.

9. If you don't like the book, or are bitterly disappointed by it, do you think you'll still stay in the fandom?

I don't see myself staying active in the fandom terribly long after Book 7 regardless. I'll probably still poke around, but I'll hopefully have a second kid, and time will be very, very limited.

10. One word (or concise) answers only!

- Snape: good, evil, own agenda?
Own Agenda
- Bill: will he help Remus or just be on permanent honeymoon? This is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, not Remus Lupin and the Werewolf Who Bit Him. But he'll be helping Remus in some way, because Remus is working to bring down Voldie. So is Bill.
- Peter: a Gryffindor moment or not? Of some sort.
- Harry: is he a Horcrux? No.
- The Weasleys: will they all survive? Bye, Fred and/or George.
- If no to the above: who won't? I hope Arthur will live.
- Did Snape love Lily: yay or nay! Probably :P
- Hogwarts: will they go back to school or not? At some point.
- Remus and Tonks: will they get married in the book? No. Bill and Fleur is enough, thanks! (Plus, Remus and Tonks seem much more the JoP type.) But IF they survive (which I'm still stuck on no), then probably in the epilogue. :P
- Bellatrix: who will be her nemesis? If it's anyone but Narcissa or Neville, I'll cry.
- The new leader of the OotP is ...? Mundungus? Someone ought to write that. Probably McG or Aberforth.
- Percy: will he see the error of his ways or not? This is what JKR does best, and I'm hoping desperately for a yes.

11. If Harry could take just one adult Order of the Phoenix member with him on the search for Horcruxes, who should it be and why?

I'd love to see it be Remus because I love Remus, but I like the Bill or Aberforth theories, too.

12. Will Remus and Greyback have a confrontation in human or werewolf form? Will Tonks be involved? Who will the other werewolves support?

No. See the title :)

13. Who is the person from Harry's class (and it isn't him, Ron or Hermione), who will become a Hogwart's teacher? What subject will they teach?

I still like Neville teaching Herbology, especially since it means Neville will live.

14. Do you think Harry will observe Remus looking less lined and walking with a little more of a spring in his step? If so, do you think he'll attribute it to Tonks, and if he does, will he blush?

::Gag:: Sorry. It's just the question... But yes, because now the boy has a sugar momma!

15. Will Ginny use, "But Professor Lupin saw the futility of being a noble prat!" for one of her million arguments with Harry about why they should be together? Do you think they'll get back together at all?

Harry will lose part of his powers because he has denied himself Ginny, successfully shutting me up about JKR's use of that being sexist, but not in any way corny. Ron will mock him mercilessly, as he well should. But yes, they'll get back together, and no, Ginny will not cite Remus.

16. Which house do you think Tonks is in, and why? Is she going to morph into someone important and who will it be?

I like the idea of Tonks in Ravenclaw, just because that's where I often put my Aurors. If she morphs into someone important, I'm guessing Harry. I still like the idea of Tonks as a traitor, because I am mean and viscious. :)

17. Who will be revealed to be the heir of Gryffindor?

Harry or Ron. It would be cool if it was Ron. Or Ginny!!!!!!

18. As JKR has promised the final chapter will be like an epilogue; how do you think the final paragraph (hopefully) donated to Remus' future, and/or Tonks', and/or anyone else you want to write a paragraph on, will read?

Force ghost! Force Ghost! I want Harry seeing MWPP reuninted and happy. FORCE GHOST!

God, for liking Remus so much, I'm awfully keen to see him die. Maybe I shouldn't have answered this when I have PMS.

For the record, I don't want him dead because of Tonks. I've thought Remus should die ever since Sirius did, because I am so for killing off all of MWPP. I want the boys together again- all four boys.

Which kinda makes the Remus/Tonks part irrelevant, since I don't think Tonks is a necropheliac.

19. Which question from the books would it annoy you most not to have answered?

This is stupid, but... WHAT THE HELL DID MWPP DO FOR A LIVING?

20. What do you think the last line of the book is?

Probably something about people loving or remembering Harry and his scar.

Hahah, DO YOU THINK THE AUTHOR OF THE POLL SHIPS REMUS/TONKS?

I figure Remus was broke, Sirius and James stood around being rich (like say, Lucius...or say, most rich people.) Peter is the only mystery for me, since I think he's supposed to be the working-middle class guy.

And a dead reunion between all of them would be hella awkward, especially for Peter. Like "Uh...hay guys! Whats...up?!" It'd be cute though, defs.

From: [identity profile] lls-mutant.livejournal.com
Yeah, I kind of figured. :) But there were other parts of the poll that I liked.

And yeah, I don't expect my Force Ghost ending. More like Peter dying heroicly and Harry thinking perhaps his dad and Sirius would find some way to forgive him or something like that :P But I still am a sentimental person, and so yeah. Force Ghost.

I believe it was originally put together by [livejournal.com profile] gilpin25, who's a mod at [livejournal.com profile] metamorfic_moon, so that's probably why there are so many R/T-related questions. :)

Oh, and on LLS's OP:

7. Of course, him hooking up with Tonks might mean she now plans to kill both of them off (although I hope not). But JKR's idea and the fans' idea of what constitutes a key character do seem to differ sometimes.

13. I'd really like to see that. :)

Good point about killing them both, and I'm fine with that today, too :) (Honestly, I'm braced for a bloodbath. As long as Ron survives.)

And yeah, Neville. I love Neville :)

Hmm...I was thinking of doing this meme, until I saw the *ahem* slant of some of the questions. After trying so hard to not have the label of "batshit R/S shipper" applied to me, I think I'd pretty much blow it in one shot! ;)

I especially like your answers to 6 & 13. I'd like to see a happy ending for Percy and Neville, too. I'll have a hard time not flipping to the end to see if Harry lives, as well.

Date: 2007-01-15 09:02 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lls-mutant.livejournal.com
Yeah, I did it anyway, despite the slant. I feel bad, because I'm NOT an R/T shipper, and while I hate the ship myself, I am appreciating that different people see different things in it, and really, I just don't like how it was developed.

And yeah, hating Neville is like kicking puppies!

Using the co-dependent disaster that is the R/T 'relationship' and the word 'developed' in the same breath is being overly generous, I think!
Remember, kids -- just keep stalking the person you love and they'll give in eventually!

;)

and Neville rocks. 100% fact.

I could very well be wrong, but I was always under the impression that MWPP and Lily were Aurors or worked in a similar capacity.

One friend of mine suggests that a good portion of the money in the Potter's vault might have been death benefits/payout from a wizarding version of life insurance. I like this idea, though it's a bit sad.

In my fics, I have Remus getting part royalties from a published study of werewolves written by his ex. That, plus having participated in the study in the first place, helps me fill in all the 'gap years'.

From: [identity profile] lls-mutant.livejournal.com
Never said, actually. All's JKR's said is that they didn't need to make a lot of money (at least James and Lily). And while I like your friend's idea, I think JKR has mentioned James inhereted a lot. I've always made Sirius an Auror because Harry's told he thinks like an Auror when he parrots Sirius, but aside from that.... ::sigh::

Maybe I just think that because they were in the OotP.
I'd like to know more about Harry's grandparents, myself.

In an upcoming chapter of 'Pastoral Symphony', there's a great deal of dialogue about it with Sirius expressing dismay that no one's ever bothered to tell Harry anything about them.

Since I'm evil, I'm having Mrs Evans die of cancer while her daughter is still at school. Being confronted with something dire that her magic can't change or fix alters something within Lily, giving her the determination to save all she has when the time comes. I think that would explain some of Petunia's bitterness, too; how useful can this magic stuff be if it couldn't even save their mum?[/shameless self-promotion]

From: [identity profile] midnitemaraud-r.livejournal.com
See, the whole thing with any of the Weasleys being the "Heir of Gryffindor" - um, how can only one of them be the Heir? Wouldn't they all be in that case?

I don't want there to be an Heir anyway. I don't see the point or the need. If someone has to be, then I'd vote for Dumbledore (but then Aberforth would be as well) I just think that being Slytherin's Heir was important for Tom because it sort of gave him a purpose, and the fact that Slytherin himself had an agenda and made it an issue with the whole hidden Chamber.

I have no idea what Deathly Hallows means, and for people who are so adamantly sure that it means X and that JKR obviously messed up and is stupid... That's become one of my latest peeves. Really, we were all way off the mark with HBP. Sure people guessed WHO it was, but I don't recall anyone guessing WHY - i.e. that Prince didn't signify some kind of royalty and was Snape's mother's family name. I just like the spooky images it evokes, and I honestly don't care what it means. Like the other titles, we'll find out when we read the book.

*giggles at the Force Ghost scenario and hopes there won't be Ewok Happy Yub Yub Music in the background* Or would that be House Elves instead... ;)

Date: 2007-01-15 09:10 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lls-mutant.livejournal.com
Yeah, I don't think anything's set in stone. But I do think the Deathly Hallows being where the Horcruxes are is a reasonable guess! :)

I'm not sure I believe in a Heir of Gryffindor, either. It's kind of corny, to be sure. The problem is, corny's never stopped Rowling before!

Yub yub music would be required, naturally. And just for that comment, you will be subjected to my two new Regulus theories:

Tonks is not really Tonks. Regulus Black was also a metamorph and has been posing as Tonks in order to survive. When Remus didn't love him back, he got stuck in the incarnation he was currently inhabiting because unrequited love drained him of his powers. Remus caved once he realized Tonks was Regulus, not Nymphadora.

The real Mundungus Fletcher died peacefully in his armchair years ago and was found by Dumbledore. No one was told, and Regulus has been taking Polyjuice Potion ever since.

Believe it or not, I actually really like #2. :)

Hahahaha! I love those theories! Brilliant! :) (We won't discuss the directions my pervy mind is taking the first one! *g*)

Oh, guesses are marvelous - particularly reasonable ones. But when the title was released and there were posts everywhere about how much people hated it, what a stupid, lame title it was, that it was too confusing, that it didn't make sense, that "Hallows" was too complicated for children to figure out... I was totally boggled, really. And the bitchy part of me wanted to troll through their fanfic archives and look at some of their own story titles. Heh.

i really liked your answer to 18. if something along those lines happens that would make my year. but other then wanting my favorite character to be whacked i really don't think there is going to be much remus lupin in the last book. i'm hoping for more focus on harry AND neville.
