I really, really, really need to move my ass on AIL. Because if it's not done by then, I don't think it will ever get done, as JKR is certain to blow everything out of the water.

I'm torn between 'Work Hard!!' and 'screw it' myself.

I also have fears that this book will really, really disappoint me, possibly even more than the last. I worry that she isn't doing the editing she ought to and it will show(again).

Yeah, it's coming so quick.... I just know though that we'll get more info on James and Lily, and that's just one thing that could screw me up.

I have similar fears. What actually worries me most is the whole loss-of-powers-due-to-romantic love thing. I suspect she's going to do that to Harry because he denies himself Ginny, and that's just corny and nauseating, and sends the message that Romantic Love Conquers All. I hate that. One of the things I always loved about the HP series was that so many other kinds of love were highlighted. (I'm fine with Love Conquers All. Just not only Romantic Love.)

But we'll see!

Exactly -- if Romantic Love is the end-all-be-all, then Lily's love shouldn't have been enough to protect Harry. And yet, it did. I give the finger to Overwhelming Powers of Romantic Love(especially when it's depicted as near-stalking, a la Tonks).

I plowed ahead even though 'Half-Baked Plot' all but ruined a few of my main plots but now, I don't see a reason to finish.
