Did Dumbledore know right away that Snape overheard Trewlany make the prophecy re: Harry and Neville? Or is there a time where it's possible to believe that Dumbledore doesn't know that Voldie knows about the prophecy? I vaguely remember whatshisface- Goat Man (why is the name escaping me? Aberforth!) playing into this somehow, but I can't remember exactly what happened. Anyone know off the top of their head?

Dumbledore knew right away. From Chapter 25, The Seer Overheard, HBP:

Trelawney tells Harry that she was feeling a bit "odd"--i.e., had started to prophesy, though she doesn't know that--when Snape interrupted Dumbledore and herself:

"Yes, there was a commotion outside the door and it flew open, and there was that rather uncouth barman standing with Snape, who was waffling about having come the wrong way up the stairs, although I'm afraid that I myself rather thought he had been apprehended eavesdropping on my interview with Dumbledore - you see, he himself was seeking a job at the time, and no doubt hoped to pick up tips!"

***

So yes, Dumbledore knew almost the instant that Snape was caught.

I think that passage definitely shows Dumbledore knew the prophecy had been overheard -- it doesn't necessarily mean that he knew Voldemort would hear of it, as he apparently didn't know for sure that Snape had joined the Death Eaters at that point. Later in that chapter he tells Harry that when Snape knew who it referred to (*cough*LilyEvans*cough*), he changed his mind and came to him and confessed that he'd told Voldemort about it. Dumbledore may well have suspected that Snape had joined Voldemort, mind you, or even been told that he had by one of his other spies.

Goat Man

Can not answer your question, but God how I wish he was actually referred to as "Goat Man" in the books. That's just too funny. *is easily and inappropriately amused*

What exactly did Aberforth DO with the goat? I mean, it conjured up all kinds of inappropriate-for-a-children's-book thoughts in my mind. Even inappropriate-for-a-young-adult-book, actually. *squick*

I am so hoping Aberforth is revealed in book 7.

"Inappropriate Charms" ;) I was amused, too. And I think JKR totally intended for us to get those images. She DID confirm Aberforth/goat in the one interview, I think.

I'd bet money that he is. I can't see how he can not be.

Unrelated to anything, but in my dream last night you'd been hired to write the screenplay for a Marauders movie.

It rocked, from what I can remember!

Hey, you never know -- you get published, a few years down the road JKR decides to milk that cash cow. . .it could happen!

Just promise me no pervy moustaches, please?
