Because everyone else is doing it....

So there's this book coming out next month. Don't know if you've heard of it. Anyway.

I'm trying to remain spoiler free. I read spoilers for HBP, and I'm pretty convinced that I didn't enjoy the book as much as I might have otherwise. Honestly, I don't think this is too much of a problem until the week before the release, because if I remember right, most of the spoilers I heard last time were dead wrong until about three or four days before. (And the one that's going around with a character named Rimulus...? Oh, that's so gotta be real. NOT. Talk about sounding like a bad porn film.)

Anyway, should I cave, anything I post will be under a cut. I'm really hoping not to cave. Once the book comes out, any discussion of any type will be under a cut. They'll probably continue to be for quite a while, because hey- it saves your flist, too. So, yeah.

Other stuff... not much. I am still clinging to the hope I can finish Accidentally In Love, but I'm not terribly optimistic. Maybe I'm wrong though- we'll see. A lot afterwards then depends on what JKR does in Book 7. I'm frankly assuming she's going to answer SOME questions, and I'm guessing a lot of my answers might be way off. Heck, we all know the whole Remus-helping-Regulus-get-the-Horcrux thing I did probably isn't canon, but still. Once everything's confirmed non-canon... I don't know.

There's another reason AIL has really stalled out. It's a personal thing that I'll probably post next week (it's a good thing- very happy). Anyway, we'll see what happens. I'm curious to see how the face of fandom changes post-Book 7 anyway. Realistically, I know my involvement will drop considerably. It's not a "Goodbye Cruel Fandom" or anything, but simply a matter of time. I've GOT to start doing my own stuff, and while the occasional fanfic piece would be nice, no more novels that can't be published.

Anyway, that's my babbling for today.

Don't want to be spoiler-y, but I've been wondering something for a few weeks! Am I right? Or not? *hugs either way*

Yeah, you're right :) I just want to make it to my doctor's appointment on Tuesday, because I've been having spotting which probably isn't too bad but scares me anyway, because anything out of the normal scares me a bit. Thanks! :)

Congratulations!
I was hoping it would be something that would require a companion Duckie hat.

Thanks! Yup, that's exactly what it is :)

I was wondering... *g*

I'm rather looking forward to seeing how fandom changes after Book 7 is released. From an observational point of view, of course; it's going to change, but whether it will be an end of an era, or a shift to a "closed canon" fandom dynamic, it will be interesting to watch. I do know HP fandom will likely never be the same again.

You were right :)

Yeah, regardless of my own involvement, I'll be very interested to see- especially in our little segment.

I think there are some pairings it won't affect at all. For example, Harry/Snape. I've never met a Harry/Snape shipper who was in any way convinced their pairing was canon. AUs are nothing to people like that. But others that are on the edge of canon... it might be more of a change.

I think what could REALLY kill fandom is if JKR answers too many questions afterwards. If she leaves enough open, there's still lots of room for speculation, especially on little things that don't really matter much to the plot. But if she answers lots of detailed questions, it might start stunting creativity.

Either way, it will be a hell of a ride!
