WHOOHOO! We won! Go Team Post-Hogwarts! (As an aside- anyone who follows [livejournal.com profile] buttfacemakani's art, I really, really, really wanted to work, "Go Team Failure!" into one of my stories. I really wish I had.) Of course, it's not like we won by much. And I am way behind on my reading, but I hear that Team Angsty Emo Teenagers put out some great stuff, too.

But one of the things I've been dying to say is that my fic is The Line in the Sand, which I'm pretty sure at least [livejournal.com profile] sambethe guessed. (Well, she said she was pretty sure she knew who wrote that one when she recced it- thanks, btw!- and she said she was pretty sure she knew which one I wrote, so I'm assuming she was right on both counts.) For once, I don't think I referenced myself, but I guess I'm pretty distinct on certain counts. Anyway, The Line in the Sand is an AU where Peter gets cold feet at the last minute and instead of turning James and Lily over to Voldemort, he confesses that he's a Death Eater to Sirius. Instead of being happy and fluffy, the betrayal is difficult for all of them to absorb and I did my best to crush them all under my heel- hahahahahhahahahahahaha!

Anyway, I'll cross-post it when permissible and all that.

I think I had more to say, but I'm trying to finish my review of WALL-E so I can veg. Nothing like a little irony there, I know :P

Hadn't seen The Line in the Sand before. Absolutely loved it, but boy did you mess with my emotions! I love what you did with Peter.

I think the only reference back to your AIL universe and it isn't really a reference was transfiguring someone into a duck.

Thanks! I had fun with it.

And yeah, I like turning people into ducks :) I think James's Patronus is always a duck in my universe, Peter's is always an elephant, Remus's is always a dog, and Sirius's is always a dove.

Yup. Yours was the only one this go 'round that I noticed outright. Though now that Lisa has put up hers, I'm not surprised by that one either.

Besides giving them all a good amount of penalty paying, the first sign it was yours was that Remus suspected Peter followed very closely by the AIDS thing.

Anyway, I was really very fond of this one. And you are more than welcome on the rec.

It's funny- Lisa's is the one I read from the other side so far, pre-reveal. It was like I was psychic! I forgot to comment on it, though :P

It's interesting to see what made it obvious to you, though! I'm glad you told me, because I was curious :)

Thanks so much! :)

Apparently I made that mod-attention comment to your fic, but never got around to reading the actual fic. Will try to get to it when I have time for 17K words. :D I always love your works!

Heh- thanks! :) And yeah, I do tend to be long-winded, don't I? :) (Knowing how long my round 2 fic is.... ::looks sheepish::)

Off topic, but I'm assuming you'll be here for lunch on Fri - any particular requests/anti-requests? Anything I can have on hand that your elder kidlet is likely to eat, so you don't have to haul it along? Is Trevor on the move yet? (How child-proofed does my living room need to be?)

Remember how to get here? :D

I KNEW IT WAS YOURS!

Er, but it probably doesn't count because I didn't say anything before the reveal :D

And congrats to you and your team on the win, too.

Cool!!! I always think it's neat when people guess! :) (What gave it away, btw?)

And thanks- you guys did awesome, too. I need to go back and read, because I've sucked at keeping up!

What gave it away? Well, apart from the longness and the awesomeness, it was the AU-ness. You wrote an AU in a similar time-setting for [livejournal.com profile] reversathon, and there were things in this fic that reminded me of the other.

(Which is not to suggest that they're the same fic, but some of the stylistic things in this one were jumping up and down for attention in my brain -- I could probably pick them out on a re-read:)

And also, I'm friending you.
