Well, my f-list just exploded, didn't it?
While my guy didn't win, I never expected him to. Third party candidates don't, and that was the point of voting that way because sometimes (like 2004) they should.
I wouldn't have been in tears to see McCain win, but I'm happier that Obama won. If I had to pick between the two, I liked Obama better. However, my point is that I shouldn't have to choose between two- lots of times more of us would like more options.
Either way, we are going to be rid of Bush, and that can only be a good thing. So, yay for President Obama! Now get us the fuck out ofNew Caprica Iraq!
ETA: Um, is there some sort of irony in today being Guy Fawkes Day as well? Somehow, it sort of seems like it, although I can't quite put my finger on why. I guess just the change. Also, sort of going with Guy Fawkes day (i.e., about Zarek, who likes to blow up government buildings) Little ficlet for Sekrit Cabal Battle.

Date: 2008-11-05 12:34 pm (UTC)I'm giving a big (yet hesistant) YAY to Obama's win too. America (and the world) needs hope and it needs change. Now lets see if this guy can really deliver.

Date: 2008-11-05 01:10 pm (UTC)I don't know anything about US politics so I refuse to have an opinion on the candidates even though Obama sounds better (but he's been promoted by our press, too, so how would I know?). I'm sure it won't be overlooked by international TV if he screws up, although it might be if he doesn't. :D

Date: 2008-11-05 02:12 pm (UTC)I think next election I might even try to get more involved in promoting/grass roots or something. The whole two party system really just... ick. ::Sigh::

Date: 2008-11-05 02:17 pm (UTC)To be honest, I don't care at all. I figure once I give a person permission to archive/post my fic, that fic is out of my hands in terms of publication. (Not in terms of alterations, etc.) If I lost my fic because of it, that's my own fault because I should have had backup somewhere. (I didn't lose it anyway.) I'm responsible for the archival of my fics, and this is kind of like one source being removed. So, it doesn't phase me one bit.
I actually very much appreciate that if she was not going to keep the site up that she removed the fics. I agree with her I gave HER permission to post them, but not someone else. It would have been nice if she could have kept the site up and just not updated it, but it's her decision.
From a reading perspective, it's a bummer and I wish she'd advertised a little more loudly. But I'd read most of the fics there anyway, I think ;)
So, yeah. Doesn't bother me at all :)
