You know, I have a damn good life and I'm perfectly aware that there are people who would kill for this kind of "rough day." But it's been a rough one anyway.

-I woke up at 5, had a hard time going back to sleep, and when I did, overslept so I couldn't get a workout in.

-Toby threw a major fit at breakfast.

-In my exhausted, out-of-it haze I put handsoap on Toby's tooth brush. Oops.

-I still have no idea where Trevor's right shoe is. Fortunately, I still have Toby's old pair.

-I very nearly sprained my ankle, and said "fuck" in front of Toby. Don't think he didn't file it away, to be pulled out in front of my in-laws or something.

-We went for pictures. Of course, both children- despite being fed and as well rested as they could be- started off the session MISERABLE. Fortunately, the photographers at Picture People were AWESOME and really worked with us.

-Oh, apparently the manager goofed and didn't change my appointment time, so they'd been waiting for me since 10:20 when I walked in for a 10:40 appointment.

-I had no idea it was going to take so long. Granted, it wasn't supposed to- it was supposed to take 20 minutes. But Trevor wouldn't stop crying and they suggested I go out and walk around the mall with him; get him calmed down. It worked, and when we came back we did get a good picture. We went to get cookies afterwards, and it was 12:30. Trevor was howling because of course he was hungry, and I didn't bring lunch for Toby, who is impossible to feed. I ended up running around the food court- thank God McD's had vanilla yogurt.

-While cutting up Trevor's pizza (thank God this kid eats pretty much anything), I got tomato sauce in one of the cracks on my hands. OUCH.

::Sigh:: Today's sucked.

Tell me something good?

(BTW: Does anyone have ideas for service projects that are SAHM friendly that go beyond just donating money?)

I can't remember - can you sew or knit? If so, make mittens or hats or little blankets for needy kids. Participate in a food drive. Buy inexpensive art supplies (crayons, markers, paper, etc) for holiday toy drives.

Also, I'm sorry for the sucky day; mine hasn't been so great, either.

Oh and - did you have further ideas on a make-up get-together? I have a little birthday gift for you, but don't know if I should hang on to it or mail it.

Ah! I didn't, did I? The 12th should work just fine. Same time, same place? :)

Thanks for the suggestions, either. And ::hugs:: for a sucky day!

Gah, I'm sorry you had a crappy day.

Tell me something good?

Uhm, here, I made something good happen to Gaeta. :)
