I am SO not in a good mood. Someone at the hospital never sent the paperwork to the insurance company, so we might not start eating hospital tomorrow. How ticked off am I?

Just watched the commentary for webisode ten. Interesting, but nothing I hadn't heard before... except at the very end.

JE pointed out that the relationship with Hoshi had to end there, but if it had been the original with Narcho, it would have continued. Which, a.) makes sense as to why they originally wanted Narcho, and b.) I CALLED IT!!!!!! THAT'S WHAT I WROTE IN MY FIC! I'm assuming that we still wouldn't have seen much because the episodes were already done, but now I'll be watching those two with even more of a "what if" eye.

You know, I like Gaeta/Hoshi because I like seeing him smile, but he's still the little black dress of BSG to me. But now (especially after I wrote the fic and have that in my head as the backstory) I'm kind of wishing they'd gotten Narcho instead. I mean, I like Gaeta and Hoshi, because they both come across as total geeks and I can get why they're together. In the little we've seen of Narcho, he comes off as a total jerk. But I would have liked a slightly happier ending, and knowing that Gaeta had someone that he could go through what's coming with... yeah. Wish they could have gotten Narcho now.

I still find it interesting that he says he'll protect Hoshi, and I hope that's the case. JE actually said that it worked out BETTER that they got Hoshi instead of Narcho. My current theory is that they're going to use "innocent" hostages to get Gaeta to stop doing whatever it is he's doing, and Hoshi was one of them. Wouldn't stop Tom, but even if it was Random Crewman B, that would stop Gaeta, I think. My theory is that Gaeta and Tom are going on this rampage, stepping over too far, nearly kill Adama, Adama's rescuers use the hostage ploy, Tom doesn't stop but Gaeta folds like a house of cards. The Adama executes him as a traitor, and it's his body Adama's crying over and saying "I failed you", in private.

Yeah, so, rug yanked out from under me. Not the end of the world yet, but today is SUCKING. Tell me something good?

Yeah, I think they wanted Narcho because he will be part of Zarek's rebellion while Hoshi stays on Team Adama. Still, I wouldn't expect anything specific for the "I'll protect you" line. I think that's fairly vague and not intended as a set up, except maybe just to say that Gaeta would protect "good people" from the consequences of the rebellion. I mean, I can imagine a little off-camera moment, like -

Gaeta: Okay Zarek. We are going to revolt. We are going to go revenge-crazy on the fleet. But nobody hurts my hippy boyfriend, you got that?
Zarek: Whatever kid. Now hand me the nuke keys.

I'm rather hoping that Felix and Louis will be amoung the final survivors so we can imagine that maybe they get back together. And that's why they were better for 4.5 canon.

Of course I still think it's possible Gaeta will die. But Adama executing him? No. That would suck in my opinion. It would be out of character for Bill. He voted against Baltar's execution. He's become friends with Sharon. He's forgiven his crew for all kinds of mistakes and betrayals. Adama wouldn't kill Gaeta execution style. No way.

If Gaeta dies I think it'll either be on a Kamakazi mission or he'll be killed in combat or he'll commit suicide. But I still hope he survives against the odds.

I wouldn't mind them both living and getting back together. I'm just prepared for the idea Felix won't. It doesn't really bother me, because I know he makes it pretty far and I'm prepared for EVERYONE to die. And the series ends. If the series was going to continue, I'd be much sadder. But the series ending? I can handle that.

See, Adama killing Felix DOES make sense to me. There have been several times that it's been mentioned you shoot mutaniers. He's made the threat several times, and never been forced to carry through. And the rules never get broken for Gaeta.... Although I could also see Gaeta being taken out by several people, or by Tigh, or by Helo. (I'm starting to really want a Helo-Gaeta showdown.)

Can Friday get here yet? Pleeeeeeaze????? (Although I wonder how much of Gaeta we'll get the first episode. I'm guessing a scene or two- it seems like his arc might pick up more the next episode in. And after seeing what we've seen, I think the assumption that AJ was being sarcastic when he said "good things for Gaeta" is going to hold up!)

Whether it makes sense or not, Adama killing Gaeta is one of those things that would ruin the whole show for me. I'm an Adama fan, he's the daddy, I love the man, I trust him. So if Adama executed my favourite character it would be a stain on EVERYTHING for me. Sorry, it would just really upset me. Gaeta has done so much GOOD for the fleet in the past, much more than Baltar and Adama aquitted Baltar.

I don't like the idea of any other character killing Gaeta. Kara and Tigh have still shown no remorse for what they did in Collaborators. If Gaeta kills himself then fair enough, he dies on his own terms. But Gaeta has already been shot as a mutinier once. That's already happened. People should feel guilty about that, not shoot him again.

I really see Gaeta as a Frodo Baggins character. I feel like he's tried to be good and heroic for so long and now he is in Mordor and the power of the Ring is corrupting him. He need a Samwise and an Eagle to rescue him before he falls into Mount Doom. And yeah, I hope he is spared, because Gaeta deserves a reprive.

I hope I'm wrong about Adama shooting him. That would break my heart, I agree. (And I also agree that it would be really upsetting, and you're right about Gaeta being good.) And since that's TOTALLY an unspoiled theory, there's a huge chance I AM wrong :)

And that's a REALLY good point about Gaeta already being shot as a mutinier. Been there, done that. Good point.

I hate to say it because they're sort of my OTP (and I'm sure you could agree with this, though), but I could also see Zarek killing Gaeta, if Gaeta gets in his way. ::sniff::

And he does need a Sam. Especially since they're basically breaking up him and Hoshi. (But I still think Gaeta cares about him.) And I will be happy if he lives, but I'm ready for anything. ::Sigh::

It's probably a good idea to prepare myself for the worst, while hoping for the best. I just don't want to feel too disappointed or burned. I went through so much of that with Lost and Charlie's death. I felt so emotionally cheated and hated it all so much. I don't watch the show anymore.

I know it's going to hurt if it happens. When it affects your writing you can't help feeling it. After Charlie, Gaeta was my new favourite toy for fanfic. And now I have a bad feeling I've set myself up for exactly the same heartache. I said I could handle it last time - and I couldn't.

But BSG has largely been 'the antidote' of Lost for me. Everything that Lost did poorly, BSG has done well. So even if Gaeta does die, I hope I'll feel at peace with it - give him the Grey Havens rather than Mount Doom!

Did you notice he mentioned being there for the last episode? Maybe everyone was there for the last day on the shoot, or flashbacks, or whatever. But it made me hope.

I feel like there's so much other stuff that can be done with Gaeta- and AU- that it won't bug me. Plus, I need to stop writing fanfic and start writing original stuff again. (We'll see how long THAT resolution lasts!)

I am fairly certain he won't be getting any more relationships, though. Because she said that Narcho would have continued. Sad that that makes me happy, but it does reassure me that it won't be any more obvious the gay relationship was a fan bone..

But on the other hand, they're two of the three characters lauded as having a "moral core" (Lee being the third). Every time Helo does the right thing, it goes wonderfully. He gets a hot wife, a baby, promotions, XO, pats on the head, you name it. Every time Felix does the right thing, it explodes. He gets New Caprica, Stockholm's, people killed, his leg amputated, and completely ignored by Papadama.

It would make me sad, but man, I think Felix deserves to yell at SOMEONE.

LOL I forgot about the 'sode today. I was at classes (OMG- Mondays I have Trig, then Yoga. Srs math, then some hippie stuff. MY MONDAY CLASSES ARE GAETA AND HOSHI. *giggles to herself, rewrites the class names in her planner*)

Yeah, the sode releases aren't as exciting once we've seen them all- especially since you have to get through the Lycans to get to them. But I was curious about the commentary, especially about the ending. I was hopeful she'd mention Gaeta's actual feelings, not "well, you guys are on the opposite sides so you need to break up now," but I'll take what I can get. The bit about having to edit out "darling" because it was too "Brokeback" was kind of funny, as long as she's right about the western vs. gay. Because it DOES sound very western, which I can't really see with Hoshi. But now someone needs to write something where he calls Felix "darling."

Heh- I don't think the poor boy is going to sleep with anyone in 4.5. If the relationship with Narcho would have continued, that tells me no nookie for our boy, unless Narcho bites it early. But somehow, I didn't think romance was high on his list of things to do.

Alright, if I look through the character list on the battlestarwiki, these are the ones where I don't remember fic: Jean Barolay, Charlie Connor, Cottle, Elosha, Tory Foster, Gina Inviere, Jake the Dog, Aaron Kelly, Peter Laird, Romo Lampkin, Chuckles, Crashdown, Diana Seelix and Ellen Tigh.

Also, there is a distinct lack of fic about Gaeta and his right hand. Which is surprising, all things considered. Also a shame, since it hits a kink of mine if it's done well.

I could write Tory/Gaeta maybe. And Gaeta/Ellen, absolutely. I don't think I could write Gaeta/Cottle but if I would, it would sure be really kinky with a daddy thing going on and possibly some S/M... ;) Some of these shouldn't be too hard to do but don't really warrant the challenge. And Romo/Gaeta I'd really like to read!

Maybe we should make it a challenge on gaeta_squee... to fill the gap :)

Oh, and you're right about Cavil. You seriously think you can write that? Ugh. But, fascinating :D. I'd read it for sure.

falafel_musings had a Gaeta-Ellen fic that might even be Gaeta/Ellen to an extent that she was working on. Gaeta/Gina would actually be really interesting. I could almost see that working in a strange sort of way. (Or at least a weird sort of friendship fic.) Romo/Gaeta would be an interesting read, though.

I think I could write Gaeta/Cavil. Not explicit, mind you, but unless I'm being silly, the Gaeta/Narcho fic is about as explicit as I tend to get. If nothing else, it would be a major challenge.

Oh, definitely. It's not surprising, methinks. I don't think many people actually find Baltar attractive (James Callis, yes - Baltar, not so much). They don't care about getting him naked. Gaeta, however, has that thing with his hair going...

Idiom works both ways. I just wasn't sure if Gaeta was right or left handed. Although now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure he's writing with his right hand in the webisodes. But he seems like he's writing with his left in the deleted scene from A Day in the Life. (the ew- Adama/Roslin sex! scene) But right or left- everyone knows what you mean :)

Yeah, Baltar isn't so attractive. Plus, he GETS naked. Often. So often it can be hard to squeeze a fandom pairing in there, because he's already so busy sleeping with people.

You want to? I posted the picture challenge last month, which hasn't really gone anywhere. A challenge like this is no big deal, just because it's "hey people, write!" No exchange, no limits, no anything- it's almost more of a prompt than anything.

Thanks for the explanation. :) It's not the kind of thing we learn in school... strangely. ;) Gaeta could use both hands, of course. I've heard if you get bored, you should try the other hand because it feels differently. If Gaeta has tried that, he's probably ambidextrous at this point. :D
