Well, a little good news, anyway. The hospital has openings for the next three weeks. So if we can get the insurance to cough up the money, we can get Tobe into the hospital quickly.

So, tonight's the night! I'll be interested to see the internet tomorrow (or late tonight. Or both.) I think a lot of people are going to be let down. I'm not saying this for any specific plot reason, but because I think the hiatus made so many people build this up in their heads and come up with elaborate theories that unless the episode matches those, they'll be let down.

I hope I'm not among them. I don't think I am. I mean, sure, I have my theory on who the Final Cylon is and have for a while (the real theory is Ellen Tigh- while I LIKE my Cavil created the others and boxed #7 theory, I've never thought that was real). However, I'm not wedded to that theory. If the Final Cylon turns out to be Gaeta or Dee or Romo (doubt it, but hey) or Cally or whoever, I'm not going to be crushed. I'll be mildly disappointed if it's Roslin, and VERY disappointed in the writers if it's Baltar, but I firmly believe it won't be either of them. Roslin is the dying leader as far as I'm concerned, and Baltar can. not. be. a. Cylon. It gives him absolution, and ironically, after The Hub, I'm not so convinced he needs that any more. I've never even entertained the notion it was an Adama, so I'll be shell-shocked if it's Bill or Lee.

But the thing is, I don't think the Fifth will be that big a deal in the scheme of things. It won't be The Answer To All BSG Questions or anything. And beyond the final Cylon and Gaeta's fate, I really have not thought too much into the show. I find BSG to be a very hard show to predict, so I usually don't bother. Plus, we watched the first three seasons on DVD and caught up halfway through Season 4, so I never really had to wait much.

I am going to try to resist looking at the YWKTT clues today. I like the screenshots, but some of the clues they showed yesterday were a little too much. They didn't give away too much about the plot, but they were long and good scenes and I'd rather see them in context. However, I have very weak willpower when it comes to things like this. Also should just stay away from SciFi forums today, because the stupid there can be overpowering.

I did see one theory I really liked though, and I hope it's true. The reason that Tigh could knock up Cap Six was because the Cylons were now mortal. I really, really, really, really, really like that.

Anyway. Tonight! Yes! I don't think I'll be disappointed, except that the episode is over and we can't watch the next one right away. And until then, [livejournal.com profile] tin_o_biscuits sent me the next page for the airlock scene in TTOYG.

There's also a really cute Gaeta/Hoshi gag at the end because she didn't want to end the page at the place where Narcho slaps Gaeta, which I totally get. (And the gag is really funny.) I really love the panel where Narcho shouts that he loves Gaeta. (And yeah, that was meant to be the first time either of them said that.) And I love Narcho's posture when he slumps against the wall because he realizes what Felix was trying to get him to do and where, and how messed up Felix still is.

Also, you know what I figured out? Narcho is Iceman.

Anyway, give [livejournal.com profile] tin_o_biscuits love, because this is AWESOME! :)

Must make gen icon today for BSG.

I must say, my theory on the YWKTT clues is that none of them actually pertain to who the final Cylon is...

I have seen the spoilers - tho I am suspicious enough to consider the possibility of a disinfo campaign - and if the spoilers are true then all of the clues are a massive chain yank.

Which irritates me like the miniature killer on CSI. Ihope to be wrong because the clues pretty much all point to Gaeta and I would be amused if he was the final Cylon. But....

I must totally agree with you that the clues have nothing to do with the Final Cylon. If nothing else, they seem to be saying "hey guys, remember there's stuff happening OTHER than the final Cylon!"

I've seen the spoilers too. I've refrained from commenting about my feelings about them just because I do have a theory I've been spouting for a while, and telling how I feel about the spoilers could actually be a spoiler to anyone reading this.

This doesn't irritate me at all, because I never expected them to tell us anything vaguely important in the clues. ::shrug::

It irks me because of my previously stated issue: Don't tell me there's a mystery, drop all kinds of clues and then completely pull it out of your ass with info and events that I couldn't possibly have anticipated, and expect me to think the mystery was clever.

I accept that is just me, but frankly if the mystery literally can't be solved by the clues being dropped - and I think it can't but we'll see - that constitutes a chain yank to me.

Ah, see, I just think of this as advertising, and advertising is usually dumb by default :) So I've never, ever expected this to be clever. Heh.

As far as I'm concerned, the clues have amounted to a big fat pile of nothing.

[...it's not a comment of hate, but it's my only TWW icon since I replaced Josh with Felix ;-)]

Every time I see a BSG commercial, my eyes roll...seriously? not a chance in hell they're going to reveal "the truth" (whatever the hell *that* is) in this episode tonight. For lo, I am wise to the ways of promo monkeys. I concur with you 1000% that people have built this up way too much. Considering Eick can't even pronounce Kara's name, I have not very much faith in R&D's long-term plotting abilities. But I shall enjoy AJ and the other pretty.

Let's send Sam to beat up your insurance people! I am waiting for your post in which Josh stands up, strikes a muscle pose, and proclaims, "Insurance victory! 'And the weak shall be made strong', Donna. Not 'Might is right,' but rather 'Might for right'." (why no, I don't watch TWW too much, why do you ask?)

That theory about Tigh and Six? MADE OF AWESOME. I really like it!!

Narcho = Iceman? also awesome! (I may not be completely on board with the Felix/Narcho idea, but that makes that scene no less frakkin' amazing.)

Finally, ^5 for those of us who just started watching BSG recently on DVD. :-)

There can never be too much watching TWW, says the woman who named her firstborn Toby. (And if you want to get really technical, it's Tobias Joshua, and Tobias Aaron was kicked around for a couple of seconds.) And we should send Sam in. Both Sams! Sam Seaborn can kill them with their logic, and Sam Anders can just kill them if they don't listen. If nothing else, they'll just die of the pretty.

I totally agree with you about the Truth. We might get one answer tonight, like who the Cylon is. But we'll get two or three more questions, too.

BSG is a smart show, and I really enjoy watching it. But the writers- while good- are not gods or infalliable, and sometimes I think people think they are. I expect I'll like 90% of it, and dislike 10% or so. I'll find things to quibble about, but would I enjoy it if I didn't? Probably not.

And I think it's the hair or something. The hair and the cocky attitude. Iceman would have TOTALLY painted his kills on the side of his Viper.

Tobias Joshua = ORLY? :-D What does your husband think of this?

*idly wondering how many "Leland"s are going to be in this year's crop of boys*
