So, yeah. That squee you all heard? Right there at the end when they shook hands and Tom put the second hand on Gaeta's, in a gesture that could almost look caring?

Oh, my boys are in SO much trouble. This is not gonna be good, and I'm loving every single second of it, and can't blame him for being so bitter. I get why Roslin and Adama feel the alliance is necessary, but Lee's right when he says they really, really have to sell it.

I mean, come on. Gaeta and Zarek are right about one big thing: THE CYLONS NUKED HUMANITY. Yes, I get that they aren't all alike, but you know what? They were all in on it. That wasn't something like 9/11, where a terrorist faction planned an act that most people of their race found horrific. ALL OF THE CYLONS (at least the Seven) WERE IN ON IT. Can you forgive it? I don't know, but certainly not in four years. Can you forget it? No, and you never should. Adama and Roslin are looking at the survival of humanity, and I see exactly why they need the alliance that they're forming. But Gaeta and Zarek are looking at what's happened to humanity, and I can see why they're so pissed.

I don't condone violence. I don't want Gaeta and Zarek to win. But I DO want them to get Adama and Roslin to understand that you can't rule the Fleet with an iron fist and still call it a democracy. I do want them to get them to understand WHY they're being met with resistance, and that that's important. And I hate to say it, but I think Lee totally has the right of it. Lee gets it- he gets both sides.

I can't believe I'm starting to like Lee.

Okay. Can someone PLEASE help me with the timing of the webisodes here? Given that the Sharons were all wandering around, that would imply that they took place after The Oath. But also given that the webisodes were meant to take place six days after the discovery of Earth, and motivate Gaeta... they probably should have taken place by now. Right? I am SO confused with that.

Caprica Six had better watch herself around Ishay. Just saying.

When did Tigh become so cool???????? I know I thought that in Revelations, but still. Tigh cracked me up.

So, was Zarek really that corrupt? I know that they ended up being laundry reports, but Zarek did fold. Of course, he might have just seen it as people Adama bought off. I'm guessing the answer is somewhere in between. However, I like the idea that Zarek's not corrupt. He's wrong a lot of times, but I do prefer him as a man of conscience that's wrong. And, erm, believes in terrorist tactics. Zarek can be a terrorist. He just can't go for the bribes. Do not want retcons.

Speaking of retcons, not sold on the Hot Dog is Nicholas's father bit at ALL. They'd better have a darn good reason for retconning that one. Especially because the beginning of The Ties That Bind was a big deal for me, and part of that big deal was that Cally rightfully expected Chief's help with their kid.

I'm now swinging back to Gaeta's gonna die. I'm thinking Gaeta's going to give himself over or get captured, and Zarek will escape. Zarek will blow a LOT of shit up, dying in the process. Gaeta? I think Adama's going to have to execute him. I can't shake that. (But I've been wrong so many times before.) Or he'll threaten to execute, and then publicly forgive him and grant him amnesty right before he pulls the trigger. One or the other.

Only eight episodes left. ::sniffle::

I'm so predictable like that, aren't I? I my head, my whole f-list was grinning bemusedly when they saw that shot and wondering if they needed to get the buckets of ice water out to calm me down, or saying "oh, wow, lls_mutant is going to be unliveable after that one!"

And I LIKE Bill and Laura! They're my OTP! (But come on. Who didn't know they were going to? Seriously?) But Gaeta and Zarek are my... they're my boys.

I answered most of your question-like things on the Battlestar blog already, I'm just here to ask (did I already ask this?) if this episode broke your writer's block at all. When I was the handshake I immediately thought of your Gaeta/Zarek ficlets...

We'll see! It's not that I don't have ideas, just motivation. And for all my crack about writing Gaeta/Zarek, we'll see if it actually comes to fruition :P
