The Drunken Ravings of a Stay at Home Mom

Am drunk, which means I will talk like Bridget Jones or Rorschach. Didn't we have a discussion last time about how wrong a baby between them would be?

Had fondue with hubby tonight. Fondue = great date night at home. We much love The Melting Pot, but tis expensive enough BEFORE you add in the cost of a baby sitter. So we put the kids to bed, boiled up a mix of beef broth and red wine, and cooked fillet mignon, mushrooms, and hot dogs in it. Yes, I said fillet and hot dogs. Oddly enough, hot dogs are really, really, really, really good fondued, especially with the sweet and spicy tomato sauce I make. They're even better in oil, but I was pretending to be concerned about calories.

We drank all the wine that didn't make it into the pot, and then some. Been long time since had wine. Wine is good.

Wine is really good.

It was red.

I like red. As long as it's not merlot, anyway. Can't stand merlot, and it has nothing to do with Sideways. Liked the movie okay, especially since there was much talk about food and wine, but it was really pretentious at spots. Everyone should just drink what they want to drink because it tastes good. (BTW? Hess wine sucks. Artesa is good. Although I think we drank Rosemont Estates tonight, which is a good fairly cheap red wine. And a San Giovenaise, which I TOTALLY spelled wrong, but I don't care because would have spelled wrong even if sober.) What was I talking about? Oh yes, Sideways. Would have liked movie better without infidelity. Hate infidelity. (Dee/Lee in next chapter will be VERY painful because duh, must deal with Starbuck and Lee "cheating" (or whatever he wants to call it) in it. And other cheating. And fistfights. Dee and Hoshi are most fun when fist fights are involved, although this fist fight won't be between them. Dee would totally win right now anyway.) Um, yeah. Hey, was that Grey's Anatomy chick in Sideways?

Last grownup trip we took was to Napa Valley. Was good trip. Introduced me to reds beyond merlot (blech blech BLECH) and I became a total convert. Went to Clos Pegas, Sterling, Berringer's, Hess (just because of name), and Artesa, and one more I don't remember but they made a wine called "Generations" that was really good that we drank after Toby was born. Charles Krug, maybe? Had much good food and toured wineries and San Francisco and all manner of things. Can't wait to go on grownup trip again.

Anyway, spent quality time with hubby tonight, and it was really, really good. also posted fic today, but too drunk to post the link. Must respond to at least a few comments though, like kappamaki33's. Yes, I can code while drunk. WORSHIP ME!!!!!!!!!!!

Excited about remix. Apparently my remixer (for bsg_remix, not remixredux09, and okay, that took me several tries, but I'm still as impressed as hell at myself) has submitted. Am DYING to see what he/she chose, but am being good and not badgering fellow mod rose_griffes into telling me. Not that she would, as she has more strength of character than to be badgered by a drunk. BUT WANT TO KNOW!!!!!!!! DYING HERE, PEOPLE! Of course, many of you certainly understand.

SUBMIT FICS SO I CAN READ THEM ALL AHEAD OF TIME AND NOT COME AFTER YOU WITH MY KUNG FU (well, tae kwon do) MOVES OF DOOM! (I am a black belt, you know.)

Seriously. I really am.

did not watch movies tonight. Tempted to review as would probably be entertaining, but not sure what I would review. Want to write thoughtful review of Caprica. Nick and Norah was okay, as was Adventureland, but just sort of fades into memory. Need to find SOMETHING interesting to say about I Am Legend. Will watch mystery movies with Donald/Timmy tomorrow night, I guess. (I knew it wouldn't be tonight.) Zach and Miri Make a Porno was very typical Keven Smith.

Need interesting hook.

There was a bottle of pinot grigio almost empty in my fridge... I polished it off... it was bad pinot. *is sad* my first drink in months and it was bad wine. How lame is that?

Any chance Tom Zarek will get drunk in your OotB universe? I think that would be funny :) (But I think the idea of Zarek drunk is funny anyway. I got him stoned, but not drunk.)

No idea. He's definitely making a semi-major appearance at the end of A Glimmer of Serenity. Which as far as major plot goes will probably be the end of OotB, I will still write side stories but I decided I like a more open ending to it.

Entries are planned to start posting on July 1, unless a miracle occurs and we get all of them in earlier. Will post 3-4 a day for 10 days or so. And then we will reveal, so you can post anywhere after the reveal.

Am also honored that I said something interesting enough to warrant drunk return commenting. Very curious to see how the whole Dr. Robert business plays out in ALTLUT.

So is one of the perks of being a mod at least that you could have rose_griffes post the remix of your work on July 1, so you don't have to wait and wonder a long time? If it were me, I'd *make* that one of the perks.

Sorry I've been bad about responding to comments- I've been frantically writing. Friend away! Just as a word of warning, however, I've pretty much drifted away from the HP fandom and been eaten alive by Battlestar Galactica. Just so you know :)
