I am a posting fool today. I posted Part 11 of A Lot to Live Up To, which is actually sort of HAPPY. And I posted Raptor Rides, a fic where Zarek babysits Toby Hera. (And yes, I completely based Hera's characterization on Toby, because really? We've seen very little of what Hera's really LIKE, especially since getting kids that little to act is difficult.) So I've sicced Trevor on Gaeta and Hoshi and Toby on Zarek. Hee.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] remixredux09 should open up tomorrow. (Judging from [livejournal.com profile] musesfool's entries, it sounds promising.) I can't wait to see what my remixer picked!

If I was going to remix my own stuff, do you know what I would do? I used to think I'd do The Touch of Your Grace from Felix's point of view since it's all Narcho's, but really- Felix's mindset is pretty clear in that. I actually am getting the desire to write I'm No Superman from Alex and Andrew's point of view, but starting earlier, like giving an idea what their lives were like after the attacks. I mean, they're teenaged kids that were on a field trip and have been orphaned, along with the rest of their class. I'll bet there's a really, really good story there.

I have WAY too many ideas. It drives me bonkers.

In other news, I actually served everyone the same thing for dinner last night, and they ate it! It wasn't that simple, but dude- it's amazing. Plus, we graduated Trev to the booster seat, so now we're all sitting around the table together. And I ran six miles today (which I promptly undid by eating four of my chocolate cookies- I never should have made them but they're SO GOOD.)

I totally stole this from [livejournal.com profile] inksheddings, because it's fun.

Give me a character from any fandom, tv show, movie, book you know that I know and I will tell you:

a. My favorite thing about that character.
b. My least favorite thing about that character.
c. One person I would ship them with in their own verse.
d. One crossover ship for them I think would be neat.
e. One crossover universe for them I think would be even neater.
f. Their ship from hell.
g. Their song.
h. The title of their biography or autobiography.
i. The last bad dream they had.
j. How they're gonna shuffle off the mortal coil, if they haven't already.

I think I'd remix a part of YFL from Skulls' POV...

And about the meme? How about Hot Dog? :)

Date: 2009-07-18 07:26 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lls-mutant.livejournal.com
I'd totally read that. (If you ever get bored, go for it ;) )

Oooh. Hot Dog!

a. My favorite thing about that character.

I love that Hot Dog is a very caring person. He's clumsy about it, but he seems like a genuinely nice person who gives a shit about his friends. Two of my favorite things about Hot Dog are that he wholeheartedly accepted Nicky (after adjusting), and that he took all the pilots' pictures off the wall.

b. My least favorite thing about that character.

That said, I do not like the Nicky retcon. I also never understood if he was on Gaeta's side in the mutiny and wouldn't cross a line or not. And although Hot Dog is a caring person, at the same time he can be a bit thoughtless.

c. One person I would ship them with in their own verse.

You've turned me on to loving Gaeta/Hot Dog. But I also really like Hot Dog/Kat.

d. One crossover ship for them I think would be neat.

Hot Dog/Kaylee from Firefly. Although it would in no way be serious :)

e. One crossover universe for them I think would be even neater.

I think it would be fun to see Hot Dog go to Sunnydale and end up dealing with the Scooby Gang. I wouldn't ship it, but Hot Dog-Xander friendship fic would be AWESOME.

f. Their ship from hell.

Hot Dog/Adama. Eww. I just remembered the RPF implications of that, too.

g. Their song.

Best of Intentions (http://www.cowboylyrics.com/lyrics/travis-tritt/best-of-intentions-3456.html) by Travis Tritt. I could see him singing that to Nicky as a lullaby.

h. The title of their biography or autobiography

I have no idea. I can't see him writing one ;)

i. The last bad dream they had.

That something terrible happened to Nicky.

j. How they're gonna shuffle off the mortal coil, if they haven't already.

After Louis dies in Softly Tread, Brenden and his wife Molly both live for another 18 years. Brenden dies first, sadly of some infectious disease that they don't have medicine for. But he dies in bed, and he's managed to see grandchildren before he goes, and Molly holds his hand. And when he dies, his whole little community mourns his loss.

Hot Dog/Kaylee from Firefly. Although it would in no way be serious :)

Awww. Are you kidding? They'd be the cutest pairing ever. It would be like Kaylee/Jayne except Hot Dog isn't dangerous and disloyal! That's a precious new image in my head.

Six miles! That's damn impressive, woman! How do you find the time to run, take care of a household, bake cookies AND write a zillion multipart fics?

Aw, hell. How about Gaius Baltar?

Date: 2009-07-18 07:34 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lls-mutant.livejournal.com
I don't clean or sleep :) (Seriously- that seems to be what happens.)

Gaius Baltar... hmmm.

a. My favorite thing about that character.

He's a total lying weasel. Seriously? I LOVE that about him.

b. My least favorite thing about that character.

His prophet/cult leader status. Gaius was MUCH more interesting as a scientist, although I don't mind the religious conversion at all. (Actually, I liked that.) But the cult thing just didn't do it for me.

c. One person I would ship them with in their own verse.

As much as Cap6 is the right one for him, I'll write Gaius/Felix over Gaius/Cap6 any day of the week.

d. One crossover ship for them I think would be neat.

Gaius/Anya from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The snark would be EPIC.

e. One crossover universe for them I think would be even neater.

Gaius having to adopt Klaus, Violet, and Sunny from A Series of Unfortunate Events. Either that, or Gaius and John Noble from Fringe getting together and doing science.

f. Their ship from hell.

Gaius/any Catholic priest. :)

g. Their song.

"Broken" by Wideawake always makes me think of Gaius and Felix thanks to [livejournal.com profile] daybreak777

h. The title of their biography or autobiography.

My Triumphs, My Mistakes :) That was a gimme, wasn't it?

i. The last bad dream they had.

That Adama and Roslin flushed him out the airlock.

j. How they're gonna shuffle off the mortal coil, if they haven't already.

After starting a farm with Cap6, they have six children, because now that the hub is destroyed Cylons can procreate. Two of them sadly die, but the other four live. Gaius lives to be an old man and dies of natural causes not long after Cap6 dies. His oldest son, Felix, is the one that does the eulogy as he buries his father, and he cries.

Ha! I did not expect that answer. But given the way you wrote him in YFL, I suppose that's not a surprise. :)

b. My least favorite thing about that character.
His prophet/cult leader status.

I had a really hard time with Gaius' full-out creation of a religion, although like you, I was okay with the personal conversion. I just thought Gaius was too cynical to believe in a whole religious movement. I was ready to buy him as cynically playing the cult women for his own benefit, but when they started making him believe in it, that annoyed me. However, I felt a bit better about it after his "I am the flood. Nobody blames the flood." speech. That made it finally click for me.

c. One person I would ship them with in their own verse.

As much as Cap6 is the right one for him, I'll write Gaius/Felix over Gaius/Cap6 any day of the week.

Aw! Caprica Six is canon, for sure, but yeah, I like to think that Gaius and Felix shared a connection that even they didn't fully understand until the very end.

e. One crossover universe for them I think would be even neater.

Gaius having to adopt Klaus, Violet, and Sunny from A Series of Unfortunate Events. Either that, or Gaius and John Noble from Fringe getting together and doing science.

OMG, this. I almost want to write that crossover. Those kids would *totally* see right through him from the beginning. :) He would be so befuddled.

g. Their song.

"Broken" by Wideawake always makes me think of Gaius and Felix thanks to [info]daybreak777

Aw! I shall have to tell her that.

It's what makes him fun.

But seriously- one thing I do genuinely love about Baltar is that somewhere under all the ego there is some compassion. The first moment I truly, truly loved Baltar was when he obviously felt very real compassion for Gina.

I was ready to buy him as cynically playing the cult women for his own benefit, but when they started making him believe in it, that annoyed me.

I think part of what bothered me was that he kept going back and forth. In The Hub, when he confessed to Roslin... to me that was a sign he had truly changed. And then he went right back to weasel again. MAKE UP YOUR MINDS! And I would have also had less of a problem with it if we'd known that there was a One True God cult on the Colonies. I mean, really. ALL these people willing to worship the Cylon God? (Aside from the fact he appears to be winning?)

The first moment I truly, truly loved Baltar was when he obviously felt very real compassion for Gina.

Yes, absolutely. I think a lot of this had to do with James and Tricia. I think they brought depth to their "villain" roles that perhaps surprised and inspired the writers to write their characters with prismatic personalities and motivations. So by the time we get to "Pegasus", Baltar is already showing real compassion. In a twisted way, I think he showed some compassion to Boomer too, even though he simultaneously counseled her to kill herself. Still, he was the only person on that ship who was in any way willing to acknowledge what was going on and that she was in pain.

In The Hub, when he confessed to Roslin... to me that was a sign he had truly changed. And then he went right back to weasel again.I mean, really. ALL these people willing to worship the Cylon God?
Well, these guys truly were a cult, and I think of all the crazy religions that popped up during Millennialism. History tells us that there's nothing like fear and uncertainty about one's fate and soul to get people believing in some pretty implausible things.

Not really, no.

Ooh, that's a good one!

a. My favorite thing about that character.

She's not overwhelmed or impressed by anyone. She's going to tell you what she thinks if you're a hobo on the street or the President of the United States.

b. My least favorite thing about that character.

She's dead.

c. One person I would ship them with in their own verse.

Tough one. Oooh- I know. Mr. Willis of Ohio- the widower who served out the remainder of his wife's term and made his own decisions rather than letting experienced senators make them for him.

d. One crossover ship for them I think would be neat.

As an aside, I love that the woman who plays Mrs. Landingham is playing a role with Lily Tomlin in Desperate Housewives, although I don't watch the show. Crossover ship for Mrs. Landignham... Mrs. Landingham/Tom Zarek. You know that would be FUN. Especially if she'd been Laura's new aide instead of Tory.

e. One crossover universe for them I think would be even neater.

Continuing on the above, Mrs. Landingham gets to deal with Romo Lampkin.

f. Their ship from hell.

Mrs. Landingham/Leo. They'd drive each other INSANE.

g. Their song.

The first thing I thought of was The Woman In My Life (http://www.cowboylyrics.com/lyrics/vassar-phil/the-woman-in-my-life-18539.html) by Phil Vasser (the first verse)

h. The title of their biography or autobiography.

"My President Is a Geek."

i. The last bad dream they had.

She still dreams about her boys in Vietnam.

j. How they're gonna shuffle off the mortal coil, if they haven't already.

Car accident, THANKS AARON SORKIN :P

I'll offer you a choice of Charlie Pace or Toby Zeigler, since they are two fandom favs we share.

Sounds like your creative energies are raging atm!

They are! It's ridiculous. And I'll probably do both...

Charlie:

a. My favorite thing about that character.

That he was so kind to Claire, and wanted to be involved with Aaron.

b. My least favorite thing about that character.

His stalker tendencies.

c. One person I would ship them with in their own verse.

Diehard Charlie/Claire here.

d. One crossover ship for them I think would be neat.

Charlie/Luna would be interesting.

e. One crossover universe for them I think would be even neater.

Billy Kieyeka had a head!Charlie.

f. Their ship from hell.

Charlie/Locke

g. Their song.

We Are Everybody :)

h. The title of their biography or autobiography.

How I Got Fucked Over, I'm afraid. ::sigh::

i. The last bad dream they had.

It was probably really messed up and involved Ben, Claire, and Mr. Eko and Locke. When do dreams ever really make sense?

j. How they're gonna shuffle off the mortal coil, if they haven't already.

Do we need to answer this? :P

And Toby Zeigler:

a. My favorite thing about that character.

His humor. I LOVE Toby's humor.

b. My least favorite thing about that character.

When he gets self-righteous. Normally, Toby's got a drive to do the right thing, but he goes too far sometimes.

c. One person I would ship them with in their own verse.

I kind of like Toby on his own. I'd love it if he got back together with Andy. I'm like the one person who isn't into CJ/Toby, because I adore CJ/Danny.

d. One crossover ship for them I think would be neat.

Toby/Willow, after she's old enough for it not to be squicky. She's smart enough to keep up with him and would tell him to shut up when he needs it.

e. One crossover universe for them I think would be even neater.

Toby becomes Tom Zarek's speechwriter, or Toby teaches Muggle Studies at Hogwarts while Snape is teaching Potions. Their offices are right next to each other.

f. Their ship from hell.

Toby/Sam. They'd KILL each other. :)

g. Their song.

Recently: Shtting Detroit Down (http://www.cowboylyrics.com/lyrics/rich-john/shuttin-detroit-down-26813.html) by John Rich.

h. The title of their biography or autobiography.

I Serve at the Pleasure of the President.

i. The last bad dream they had.

Molly getting pregnant.

j. How they're gonna shuffle off the mortal coil, if they haven't already.

Heart attack. DEFINITELY a heart attack.

Both! You spoil me.

The title of their biography or autobiography. How I Got Fucked Over

*sigh* So true. Though Charlie might have to fight with Felix Gaeta for the copyright to that title.

It was probably really messed up and involved Ben, Claire, and Mr. Eko and Locke. When do dreams ever really make sense?

I just hope it wasn't a kinky dream! Though knowing Charlie it would be.

Personally I don't ship CJ/Toby romantically, but they have a great friendship. I've still not finished my WW watch. But Toby and CJ are so my favs.

LMAO at the thought of Toby teaching at Hogwarts!

Both! You spoil me.

I miss you- can you tell? :)

Though Charlie might have to fight with Felix Gaeta for the copyright to that title.

Amen. I was going to say "but", but I'm really not sure there's a "but" there to be had.

I just hope it wasn't a kinky dream! Though knowing Charlie it would be.

I think a Charlie/Ben/Claire/Mr. Eko/Locke kinky dream would qualify as a nightmare, don't you? :) I didn't mean it to do so, but yeah. But regardless, since this is LOST, it would be fraught with symbolism.

I LOVE the CJ-Toby friendship. I think that's another reason I can't ship them. I really, really, really, really like them as friends. (Plus I really prefer Toby on his own and CJ/Danny is my WW OTP.)

Once upon a time I really wanted to write the Toby-Snape crossover, but I never worked it out.

Oooh! You know what I found that was pretty funny though? Did you ever watch buffy? I forget. I found the first two chapters of a Buffy/WW crossover where Donna is a potential Slayer and Toby is her Watcher. It was AWESOME.

Awww. Miss you too. Sorry I've not been keeping up with your new fics. I'm not really reading any fic at the moment. I'm too busy with my novel stuff.

Agreed. Platonic Toby/CJ is the best. I love Danny too!

I'm not a Buffy/Angel fan. The episodes I've seen, I didn't like. It's not as bad as Twilight, but I still have issues with how it modernises the vampire myth. I'm just a traditionalist when it comes to vampires. It's European myth and I hate seeing it hijacked into a trendy American high school setting. It's all wrong to me.

Actually apart from Firefly and Dr Horrible, I'm really not a big fandom of Joss Wheadon. I find his writing style tiresome. I can only take it in small doses.

Novel is a VERY good reason!!!!! How's it coming? I figured you wouldn't be reading most of my new fics anyway- The Rascal King is essentially a thematic summary of YFL, and A Lot to Live Up To is very heavy on Hoshi, and I know how you feel about Mr. Glorified Extra ;)

I didn't realize that you weren't much of a Joss fan! Interesting. I still haven't watched Dollhouse, but when it comes out on DVD....

I've never watched Angel, and I'm not rushing towards it. I liked Buffy because she was the vampire slayer. I have no interest in the vampires, and Angel was always too broody for me. (I really liked Buffy's human boyfriend.)

I'm scared I'm not gonna be happy with my novel by the time the course starts. The idea is to work from a rough draft but still...I want it to be a GOOD rough draft.

I just find Joss so overrated, especially online. Personally, I find Joss's style of mixing operatic plots with zippy dialogue is just a mix I don't like. His jokes are never very funny, but the tone so jokey I can never take the serious moments seriously. I liked the inter-galactic western world he created in Firefly but the show always felt light-weight and never got under my skin. I'd have liked more of the darkness of episodes like 'Objects in Space'.

Btw has nobody asked for Felix Gaeta on this meme? Can I ask for Felix?

Date: 2009-07-20 07:17 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lls-mutant.livejournal.com
Yeah, I know that feeling! I hope it goes well for you :)

I can see the overrated aspect, especially online. I really like Joss, but he's far from perfect (as are we all), and he's done some things I really hated. But online, he is revered as God.

No, no one has asked for Felix! I will happily do Felix :)

a. My favorite thing about that character.

I'm with Hoshi on this one- his desire to do what's right. His moral core. That he is a genuinely nice, good person, and I wish the world worked the way he thinks it should. That's what really attracted me to the character in the first place.

b. My least favorite thing about that character.

The self-delusion at times. Come on, Felix, did you REALLY think that was a trial? I HATED that. (I also HATED that he kissed the Eight in the Raptor. On NC? Fine. But in the Raptor... but I'll be honest. Although I hated the trial, I think that was in character, although maybe I would have made it a LITTLE less obvious that it was a total mockery of justice. But I do not think it's in character for Felix to cheat. So I chalk that one up to morpha and helping her project, and that he wouldn't have gone through with it, because while I can easily believe he wasn't in love, cheating violates his code of ethics.)

c. One person I would ship them with in their own verse.

Well, the one that I am always, always, always consistent on is that Felix loved Gaius. That's there no matter what I write, be it Gaeta/Hoshi, Gaeta/Narcho, or Gaeta gen. Felix loved Gaius, and that's essential to his character for me.

I do very much like Gaeta/Hoshi, but it's become so fanon in my head (much like Hoshi's personality) that I'm probably liking my own stuff more than BSG :) Ditto Gaeta/Narcho. But only one per universe- I see Gaeta as a character that can fit into a lot of different pairings, but not all in the same story. I can believe him with Narcho. I can believe him with Hoshi. I can believe him with Dee (although I'm not crazy about it). But I can't seriously believe them all together.

And yeah, I do still like Gaeta/Zarek. That's the one instance where I might give up the Gaeta/Baltar as being a physical thing that actually happened, just because all three guys in power go for guys? Yeah, it could happen, but it gets a little too orgy-ish for me. But I prefer Gaeta and Zarek as father and son over shipped if given the choice.

d. One crossover ship for them I think would be neat.

Felix/Astrid in Fringe. She'd be so good for him, and I think she'd appreciate that he actually appreciates her, they'd have science in common, and the CURLS!

Date: 2009-07-20 07:18 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lls-mutant.livejournal.com
e. One crossover universe for them I think would be even neater.

at one point, I was on the verge of writing a BSG-meets-Firefly crossover. It was going to be post-Serenity, and Mal was hoping to find a new pilot. And Simon and River were going to meet Felix, and River was going to point out he was broken and Simon was going to mention you don't point out a person is missing their leg and River was going to say "no, like me". And that would catch Simon's attention and he'd get to know Felix a little and suggest him to Mal, and Mal wouldn't like the idea at first and then agree to it.

And Jayne would be PISSED because they already have one prissy nancy boy on board, what do they need another for? But one night he'd come down and he and Felix would get drunk together, and of course nothing impresses Jayne like a man who can drink. And Jayne would ask if Felix was going to come on to him and Felix would say no, and Jayne would be completely relieved but would also ask "Why not?"

And of course, the why not is because Felix is so fucked up, but also because the other person who didn't want to go ANYWHERE NEAR THE ALLIANCE was Tom Zarek. So he got on Serenity, too, and as they were traveling, Tom and Felix started sleeping together.

Eventually they leave Tom off at Whitefall, and Tom ends up challenging Patience for dominance of Whitefall and being shady with her, and Felix is piloting Serenity and ends up being odd best friends with Simon on one side and Jayne on the other (which causes Mal to drink a LOT some days).

And they still pick up passangers, and a few years later they pick up Adama, Roslin, Dee, and Lee. Roslin's been on the Core and has been cured, and the four of them want out of the Core and off to someplace more remote (Dee and Lee are being idealistic and want to help). And they meet up with Serenity, and at first they don't even RECOGNIZE Felix, because he's happy, he's got a decent prosthetic (and wears his pants over it) and walks with only a slight limp, and he's grown his hair out so it's pulled back in a ponytail, and he's wearing Western wear. And the Adama family all hops on, and they all go out to Whitefall and that's when Roslin finds out Tom is basically Felix's booty call, and while they won't call it a relationship they don't sleep with other people, and she laughs her ass off. Especially when she sees Tom in a cowboy hat and on a horse.

But I never had any idea of how to finish it.

Repressed stuff about what the Eight did. Definitely.

After beating RDM over the head with his prosthetic.

(Although, truthfully, death made sense for his arc. But what frustrates me is that forgiveness and making him Admiral would have made sense for Adama's.)

Epic answer!

We never really got any context for Gaeta-in-relationships so it's hard to tell how he would feel about "cheating". I'm not sure what happened in the Raptor qualifies - a) the morpha and lack of air, resulting irrational behaviour b) not being in love with Hoshi c) Felix being so messed up after his leg, Dee, frak!earth, etc. I have more trouble with Felix/8 on New Caprica, cos I always imagined Felix heartbroken over Baltar/6 during that time period.

I think Gaeta/Adama are my ship from hell. Not in terms of slash, just how painful and hateful that relationship became. It was hard to watch. You're right that forgiving Gaeta would have been redeeming for Adama. In my eyes, Adama had no redemption. He ended as an embittered drunken troll. It still disappoints me.

Baltar put Gaeta through a lot of grief, but he would never have intentionally hurt Felix and he certainly would not have killed him. Considering that Gaeta tried to kill Baltar about five times and Baltar still cared for him, I find that kind of amazing.

I don't think I could do this meme! I really don't like crossover fics, other than parodies (like your Gaeta/Dr Horrible). Characters meeting characters from other verses is just something my brain rejects. It just doesn't work for me.

Date: 2009-07-21 09:46 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lls-mutant.livejournal.com
True that we've never gotten context for Gaeta-in-relationships. I just... part of it is my own squick, I think. But part of it is I think that Gaeta's the kind of guy (like Lee, in his twisted way) that if he said "we're exclusive", he'd honor that. He'd be the the type to break up/divorce first, and I cling to that. Just because infidelity REALLY changes my opinion of a person. I can handle what Baltar does just because I never believe that Baltar would lie and tell Felix they're exclusive. For all that Gaius is a lying weasel, there are certain things he's honest about. He wouldn't be faithful, but he wouldn't pretend to be, either.

I actually have a little less trouble with Sweet!Eight precisely because I agree that Felix would be heartbroken at that point in time. I can't believe he'd cheat, but I can totally believe he'd be susceptible to a rebound sort of thing. (Especially since, no matter who I write him with, my Felix is never that experienced in relationships. Sometime I have to write the YFL Gaeta/Skulls, because he was a virgin for that one.)

And yeah, I can see your point about Gaeta/Adama. (I considered putting that one as the ship from hell.) It still disappoints me immensely we never saw that decision affect Adama AT ALL. I never did regain my love for Adama through the series. For my big bang, I'm making him a little more tolerable, because damn it, I used to ADORE the character, and I was left with really not liking him at the end.

Characters meeting characters from other verses is just something my brain rejects. It just doesn't work for me.

Unless there's a way to do it, a lot of times it doesn't work for me, either, unless it's a very short "how would these characters react to each other" piece. But the one crossover that TOTALLY works for me is BSG/Firefly, just because the BSG people are searching for Earth, the Firefly crew originated from Earth... and yeah. It works well enough for me. But a lot of the others... if the author is good enough I can read it (I read one that I LOVED where Sirius fell through the Veil and ended up on Serenity), but the author had better be pretty darn good.

Woman, how much do I have to beg to get you to write this? This sounds like absolutely the best idea, um, EVER. (Can River be afraid of Felix's long hair? Please oh please? :) )

Because surely somebody else will come in here and ask about the YFL/ALTLUT gang, and because I'm stoked about seeing HBP next week...Remus Lupin.

Oooh, Remus! I miss Remus sometimes.

a. My favorite thing about that character.

He was such an awesome, compassionate teacher. I loved him for that.

b. My least favorite thing about that character.

He was a coward when it came to personal relationships.

c. One person I would ship them with in their own verse.

SIRIUS BLACK :) (That's exactly who I DO ship him with.)

d. One crossover ship for them I think would be neat.

While I generally like Remus gay, I think Remus/Inara would be extremely interesting, or Remus/Book.

e. One crossover universe for them I think would be even neater.

I used this one for Gaius, but I always thought that Remus adopting the three kids from A Series of Unfortunate Events would be AWESOME. Also, how about Remus somehow ending up on New Caprica and being one of Roslin's teachers?

f. Their ship from hell.

Remus/Tonks ;) (closely followed by Remus/Snape or Remus/Greyback)

g. Their song.

You know, I used to have an answer for this, and now I can't even remember. Exile by Enya, maybe? Damn. This will keep me up for a while.

h. The title of their biography or autobiography.

Hairy Snout, Human Heart :)

i. The last bad dream they had.

Flashback memories of Greyback turning him into a werewolf.

j. How they're gonna shuffle off the mortal coil, if they haven't already.

In battle, off screen apparently.

Hmmm. Okay, here's one from ASOIAF--Tyrion Lannister.

From: [identity profile] lls-mutant.livejournal.com
Oooh. Fun one.

a. My favorite thing about that character.

I love his practicality and realism. Tyrion has a very clear-eyed view of the world- both the good and the bad- and I really like that about him.

b. My least favorite thing about that character.

He really manages to screw himself over sometimes, doesn't he? When he gets into his depressions, he sometimes... yeah, that's when I don't enjoy reading him as much.

c. One person I would ship them with in their own verse.

I liked Tyrion/Shae.

d. One crossover ship for them I think would be neat.

I think Tyrion/Snape would be either epic snark or epic disaster. Actually, I can't really envision them getting together. You know what I could totally see if you worked it right? Tyrion/Inara. Yes. That would work.

e. One crossover universe for them I think would be even neater.

Tyrion and Romo Lampkin from BSG going head to head. Heh.

f. Their ship from hell.

Tyrion/Cersai.

g. Their song.

Uninvited Guest by Marillion

h. The title of their biography or autobiography.

In the Privy, With the Crossbow

i. The last bad dream they had.

His father coming back from the dead and killing him, complete with much imagery.

j. How they're gonna shuffle off the mortal coil, if they haven't already.

Violently. Or late in life, from a heart attack- I can't decide which.

I suddenly have this insane desire to inflict Romo on the West Wing characters if only for the excuse to keep using this icon

While I try to overcome that, tell me about Dee.

Oh my GOD, yes!!!!!! That would be AWESOME.

a. My favorite thing about that character.

She's strong, but it's not in a gun-toting sort of way. you don't mess with Dee, but she doesn't need to flaunt it in your face.

b. My least favorite thing about that character.

When she loves someone, she can be a doormat. She lets things go that maybe she shouldn't in order to keep them.

c. One person I would ship them with in their own verse.

Would you believe I'm coming around to Dee/Lee? But I'm now falling in love with the idea of Dee/Noel.

d. One crossover ship for them I think would be neat.

Dee/Sam Seaborne

e. One crossover universe for them I think would be even neater.

I love the idea of BSG finding Serenity.

f. Their ship from hell.

Dee/Kara :) I don't think she'd like that at ALL.

g. Their song.

As Cool as I Am (http://lyricwiki.org/Dar_Williams:As_Cool_As_I_Am) by Dar Williams

h. The title of their biography or autobiography.

BSG Woman and POC: What do you mean, my shirt's not red?

i. The last bad dream they had.

That Earth was a nuclear wasteland. And then she woke up and remembered it was real.

j. How they're gonna shuffle off the mortal coil, if they haven't already.

:P~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ to RDM. She shoulda been Admiral.

I don't know enough about West Wing to comment very confidently on this, but because of some comments you've made, I'm wondering...

But I'm now falling in love with the idea of Dee/Noel.

d. One crossover ship for them I think would be neat.

Dee/Sam Seaborne

Since Noel=Sebastian Spence=Timmy Callahan, and you've said Timmy Callahan=Sam Seaborne...does that mean shipping Dee/Sam Seaborne is sort of like shipping Dee/a straight and rather uptight version of Noel? :P

Yeah, pretty much :) Although Sam's a little more relaxed than Timmy. ::must make Strachey icons. Or Narcho.::

You sound like some sort of super-human creature! How do you do it all? (If you ever want to sic your boys on other characters, do it! Also: I blame you for giving me dreams in which I have sons. Sons that look suspiciously like pictures of your kids.)

And, wow. No one has gone the completely obvious route, so allow me. Louis!

From: [identity profile] lls-mutant.livejournal.com
Aww! You can borrow them for a few days ;) I've been debating who else I could sic them on. I'm not sure who else would be fun.

Louis! There might be two versions of each answer- BSG canon and my canon :)

a. My favorite thing about that character.

He's very gentle. This was something that just really came across to me in BSG canon even before the webisodes- Hoshi just always struck me as a gentle guy. And when we saw him in the webisodes and his relationship with Gaeta, that seemed confirmed. But what makes it attractive is that even though he's gentle, he's got some steel in him.

b. My least favorite thing about that character.

The last lines of the webisodes came off really whiny- even I have to admit that. In my canon, he refuses to admit anyone else might be right and he's as stubborn as hell.

c. One person I would ship them with in their own verse.

Unabashed Gaeta/Hoshi. But I also really like the Louis/Noel relationship, too.

d. One crossover ship for them I think would be neat.

This one's tough, because I really like him with Felix and Noel and he is kind of generic. Sirius Black from Harry Potter?

e. One crossover universe for them I think would be even neater.

BSG/Firefly

f. Their ship from hell.

Hoshi/Gage. Especially in my bigbang.

g. Their song.

I don't know for sure what my Hoshi song is, but I LOVE "Falling Softly" from Once for him and Gaeta, and that's what they were slowdancing to at the remission party :)

h. The title of their biography or autobiography.

Life and Times with a bad haircut.

i. The last bad dream they had.

a pair of giant wildcats chasing him while he ran naked into the center of an Academy classroom.

j. How they're gonna shuffle off the mortal coil, if they haven't already.

In my universe, it's when he's 52 and he realizes the leukemia's come back. They aren't with Cottle and he knows resources are finite anyway, so there's no treatment. He opts to poison himself because he doesn't want to die lingering and slow and painfully, but considers it euthanasia rather than suicide- he never, ever would have considered it if they had the resources to treat him.

I must be the only person in the world who didn't find his last line whiny, but that may have to do with the fact that A) I really didn't know who the character was at that point, B) I was watching in a lab computer and I was still trying to process that Felix had just randomly broken up with him, and C) I was pretty much right there with him, as in, "FELIX WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?"

Hoshi/Gage. Especially in my bigbang.

Urrrgh, even outside of the context of the big bang, that makes me feel all grossed out.

Why is he being chased by wildcats??

Oh, I never thought it was just suicide! Even outside the context of ALTLUT, I realized he was just trying to prevent a long, drawn out, painful death. It made perfect sense to me. It broke my heart to bitty little pieces, but it made sense.
