Watched Dollhouse. Was very good, but very creepy in that Paul's obsession with Echo = CREEPY. Must always be savior. Paul is starting to suck. I liked him when he was liking Mellie. Glad they called him on that- makes me feel like his obsession with Echo is SUPPOSED to be creepy. GOOD.

Topher amuses me, even though he shouldn't.

Starting to want weird Topher/Claire/Boyd triangle, with her choosing Boyd at the end. Think I will get it.

Jamie Bamber much hotter as Not Apollo. And with British accent.

Were Helo and Apollo totally smirking when they faced each other for the first time???? I thought so.

Drank WAY too much wine tonight, as can be seen by lack of pronouns. Roscharch/Bridget, BABY! :) Yes, I totally spelled his name wrong.

Judging by overwhelming response, will send story, but not tonight when drunk off ass. "HEY DUDE!" not appropriate salutation, even if said dude is kind of skeevy and would suck on tongue if were a hot blonde. (Just blonde. Not terribly hot. Picture taken 20-30 pounds ago.)

Had very nice evening with hubby, who was gone all week. Also wrote another big bang scene today. Hoshi helped Tyrol set Boomer free so we could avoid yet another female murder. While normally think feminists, etc. can be a bit oversensitive, must agree that too many women killed in BSG. Kill the men, too. (Think everyone should have died except Cap6 and Baltar, but not really because then ew- major incest going next generation and YUCKY. I don't like incest, although some days it feels like I'm the only one when I watch the SPN and Firefly portions of my f-list.)

Okay. Getting too thinky. Oh- today Toby asked me if married. Said yes. He asked if married to Daddy. Refrained from saying "duh" and said yes. He said, "That was nice to daddy." Very cute. And was at very emotional and heart warming baby shower. As mother shared tear jerking story of adoption (seriously tear-jerking, I almost cried and am NOT being sarcastic), Trevor ran through the gathered group going "EEEEE!" at the top of his voice, his little sandels thumping. Was funny, but think you had to be there.

Must sleep. My morning to wake up early tomorrow. And then RUN.

Sleeeeeeeeep.

*snickers* HAH! I just mentioned in my post that I've found personal pronouns again since yesterday's cranky post of crankiness.

YESSSSS. I always thought so and the episode just confirmed it.

Haven't seen Dollhouse's new episode yet, but I'll just say, I think they always made Paul's obsession with Echo look creepy, even in Season 1. Poor Mellie.

I don't like incest

That always bugs me out about new fandoms, because I keep not expecting it, and then it shows up. The popularity of slash makes sense...incest not so much.

He said, "That was nice to daddy."

*melts* Awwwwwwww...he's so adorable! And I thought the running sounded hilarious, even not being there. I've been around dozens of scenarios just like that. ;-)

I really like brother-sister relationships, or brother-brother. (Funny how I rarely see good sister-sister, but I guess most of that is in chicklit.) But the popularity of incest overwhelms me. I suppose people partly like it- especially in TV shows- because for the most part, there's an association with actors and they -know- the actors aren't related. But still. It's one of my big squicks. I'd never denounce it from the pulpit, because what people choose to read in fanfic often means nothing in terms of what they think in real life, but I still don't understand it. Ah well :)

Topher is amazing. I want to be his best friend. This show is getting on the side of creepy and I love it.

Also how fantastic was it to see... Martin pistolwhip Paul? Especially because Jamie is like half a foot shorter. It was kind of brilliant. I tried not to but when they were fighting I definitely had a moment of... hehe... Lee and Helo.

Martin pistolwhipping Paul was fantastic. I liked Paul for a while, but he's definitely not growing on me with this Echo obsession. I was so glad when Adelle pointed out that he hadn't asked about November at all.

And I totally got that Lee and Helo moment, too. It made me giggle :)

I feel like I've given Paul too much credit. I don't want him to be obsessed with Echo... essentially I think I just want him to be more like Helo I think XD That's not right. I want Echo to be a more likeable character. Because it's not like all the actives are unlikeable. I love Victor and I love Sierra (I also ship them like it's my job.)

I've always found Paul's connection/obsession with Echo creepy, and I think you're right in that it's supposed to be creepy. For awhile, I kind of wondered why Whedon cast Tahmoh Penikett in the role because, though he does a great job, I think the role is supposed to be against type for him. The more I watch, though, the more I think the casting decision was actually a really smart one. It's kind of like what Hitchcock did with Cary Grant in a couple of his films: Hitchcock knew that because Grant had this strong extra-filmic persona of being a funny, suave, warm hero, he could cast him in the role of a cold jerk (Notorious) and a sociopath (Suspicion, before the studio made him change the ending), and people would bring along their extra-filmic perceptions of him and see the characters as much warmer and more human than they actually were. For me, if I look just at what Paul's done, he's a total creeping creeper. But because there's that subconscious connection with and comparison to Helo in my mind, in addition to how Tahmoh plays Paul, I have a little extra sympathy for the character and give him the benefit of the doubt when I really shouldn't.

LOVING the Dr. Saunders storyline, and I'm voting for that frakked-up triangle, too.

I haven't gotten the chance to look over the last batch of big bang you sent me--due to several odd flukes, I didn't have nearly as much downtime this week as I thought I would. I'll hopefully get to it soon, though. How are things coming in terms of the deadline?

Yeah, I agree that Joss is turning Tahmoh's previous role on its head and deliberately playing with that. It's a neat trick, and I really like it. Although I'm REALLY starting to hate Paul. I was SO GLAD when Adelle brought up November/Mellie. I really would love to see her come back, because I liked her character best, especially as a person. (I also loved that Paul genuinely thought she was gorgeous. But boy, did he lose interest once he didn't have to Save Her anymore.)

No biggie on the big bang! We've got lots of time, and I'm not quite as insecure about what I sent you- and at the same time, there's a lot of stuff that needs adding to it. (I keep forgetting about Roslin.)

As far as the deadline, I'm trying to slap down as much as possible by October 1, so the artist has it. I'm planning on signing up for a fairly early posting date, though- maybe posting on my birthday :) (Nov. 9). I've just gotten Boomer out of the brig, so we're getting there. Although I've still got a LOT to write.

We'll really get to see me panic at some point, I think! :)

YES! I mean, I did like Apollo (at least for the first few seasons, with the short hair and the pilot-ness, rather than politician!Apollo, but anyway), yes, the accent made me moan a little bit. :)

And there was totally Helo/Apollo smirking! :) Hee. The S.O. and I still call him Helo in this show, btw. I keep forgetting his new character's name.

Hee, he asked if you were married to his dad. That's adorable. I love little kids figuring the world out. :)

... There is incest in the Firefly fandom? .... Uuuuurgh. (Sorry, I love the brother/sister dynamic in that show LIKEWOAH. I have a weakness for awesome siblings.)

Yes. There is quite a bit of Simon/River. I'm not deep in the fandom (and my only real pairing is Zoe/Wash, although I can certainly handle Kaylee/Simon or Kaylee/Inara-bff-sex), but I see it pop up from time to time.

Plus, a lot of people on my list love SPN. Never watched it (although I've been tempted to hunt down the episode Brad Dryborough is in- it looks like he has decent hair!), but it seems like the biggest ship is Sam/Dean there.

::shrugs:: I don't condemn reading incest in fanfic, because it's fanfic, but I don't quite get it, either. Oh well. It's easy to avoid in BSG fic :)

I don't even want to think about Firefly incest. Urgh. I am entirely too attached to the Tam's adorably ADORABLE brother/sister dynamic. Awesome siblings get me every time.

Your son is precious, figuring out how the world works. :) That's seriously one of the cutest things I've heard in a while. And the little one sounds adorable, too.

I need to see Dollhouuuuse. Paycheck, please to be here nao?

I know! The Tams are awesome as are! (Not to mention River gets confused often enough that I'd almost call a lot of River sex scenarios dubcon.)

And thanks- I think they're darling :)

ha, I love your drunk posts!

Jamie Bamber being British! Alexis Denisof being American! the world is upside down.

I don't understand what's happening with Paul at all, but that's okay, because I'm enjoying Boyd and Topher and Victor and Saunders. Curse you, Amy Acker, for getting another job!

Also? everyone in BSG DID die. They got eaten by dinosaurs because Lee's a moron. that's my story and I'm sticking to it. }:>

This is true. Everyone in BSG did die. Or they all got together where Lee couldn't see and formed Atlantis.

I wish Amy Acker was still on Dollhouse. The moment where she took the lollipop and ate it herself just cracked me up- such an awesome moment!
