I'm warming up more and more to Caprica. I'm starting to like the Greystones a little better, as long as they're together. Daniel on his own doesn't do much for me, Amanda on her own doesn't do much for me, but I really like them as a unit.
Was amused at the Zoe-toaster having to watch her parents have sex.
The Adamas are the more interesting family to me now, especially watching the dual personality of Joseph Adama in his family and clearly not overly powerful yet in law. Willie... let's just say I do better if I don't think of him as Bill. I can't see Admiral Adama serving in a mob bar or gleefully skipping school.
Uncle Sam keeps winning my heart, though, even though he scares me. It's a neat juxtaposition, the cold-blooded way he carries out the mob stuff versus the very warm, tender relationship he has with his nephew. And we finally met Larry, who seems to be on the hippy side. Although the exchange "Why do you love me so desperately?" "Because I have issues," completely cracked me up. (Also made me want to have Hoshi and Gaeta say that around Adama, and then Adama realize later he should have seen more coming or something.)
The chick who played Kat in the series looked AMAZING here, very professional and elegant. It took me a minute to realize it was the same actress, and I mean that as a compliment.
Next week looks interesting, although I'm pretty sure that Amanda will survive it.
And how awesome is Lacey? I loved her tackling that guy and getting the STO stuff out of him.
Lacey and Sam are definitely the two characters pulling me in right now. I'm liking them a LOT.
So far, I'm enjoying it. Definitely.

Date: 2010-02-06 03:34 am (UTC)I guess I'm not really caught up, I'm actually watching bits of it at the moment and sort of out of sequence- I'm not so committed I feel the need to pour over every detail I guess. Daniel however is totally my type (he really reminds me of an older version of one of my original characters, or like my character's dad. *Though I can't see shipping or ficcing him or anything- I don't know much about his wife yet and I would feel weird shipping a middle-aged married man who seems happy.)
I feel too that I'm enjoying it more if I don't get all bent out of shape about canon. I'm trying anyway. The religious stuff is really pissing off my Baltar muse because he's like, 'that's mine! mine! shoo, you thieves!' which is actually sort of cute but...

Date: 2010-02-06 03:52 am (UTC)Yeah- I'm trying not to think too hard about the religious stuff. I definitely find it's better if I don't think too hard at all, or just don't try to match the two canons up. RDM's clearly changed his mind a lot just going through BSG, so I shouldn't expect them to remotely match.

Date: 2010-02-06 04:15 am (UTC)The larger the part in BSG, the smaller the part in Caprica I think, but I think it might be interesting for actor watch.
I almost wish they'd just called it something else. Though I'm still wondering if the virtual reality clubs or something might make for interesting fic fodder. (I'm also sort of amused that Caprican interior design aesthetics haven't changed much in what, 50 years?)
