Feb. 19th, 2010 09:43 pmI am so tuned in for the Sam Adama show, but this is the first time I've kind of found Daniel Graystone interesting. I think I'm just warming up to him.
Luciana is really doing a good job not being Kat. If I didn't know better, I wouldn't think it's the same woman.
The group marriage is still a bit odd to me. Sorry, but it is. Plus, I'm sorry, but I need a hell of a lot more space in the bed than that.
OH. WOW. GRANDMA ADAMA IS SUBTLE. SERIOUSLY. (although if it turns out that's NOT Bill Adama, that's a fairly brilliant play and I'll laugh my ass off and tip my hat to RDM for that idea. Fan theory- not spoiler. Based largely on the fact that William Adama would be 70 something in the series if this timeline is right. Which Howard promptly points out that a Caprican year doesn't have to be the same length of time as a Terran year. Um, good point. Howard's continued commentary: "they can't even add it up right to get 12 models of Cylons. How the heck do you think they're gonna deal with math in this one?")
The music in this is amusing me to no end. For one, you can definitely hear some echos of the BSG music. Bear is being brilliant.
The dancing is funny. He's so obviously an engineer. But can we switch back to the Centurion, because I want to see the Centurion dirty dancing.
Grandma Adama is funny. "They play jacks with the finger bones of the Tauron children who lose at Jacks."
Ooooh. That was a pretty good moment, with Amanda storming out on to the stage. This has potential.
Okay, this guy is an asshole.
Legalized drugs. Interesting.
This guy must be overjoyed. I'm betting his ratings went through the rough.
"She's not supposed to be." ::giggle::
"I could kill her with my own hands." Grandma Adama is going to be disappointed with one of her boys.
Need more Sam.
Ah, Joseph. We are seeing where Bill gets his angsting abilities from.
Are we going to go to another episode here? Is this a two parter? Or will Sam save her on his own? I'm betting Sam will save her on his own. He hasn't been thrilled about this from the beginning.
This is so the Sam Adama show.
Does Nestor look a little bit like Paul Campbell to anyone else?
Definite BSG echoes in the music. Wow.
Oooh. Next week looks interesting, too. I'm really liking Caprica.

Date: 2010-02-20 07:23 am (UTC)I really like the way Sam handled that -- he taught Joseph a lesson about playing hardcore-gangster, that's for sure. I love them as brothers, too: the "are you being sarcastic?" "I dunno, am I?" "I can't tell, Sam!" exchange was wonderful.
There were not enough robots in this one. Serge only got one line! I did like the scene with Cylon!Zoe and the lab tech, though.
I really like the group marriage, gay marriage, V Club, and legalized drugs stuff, but it's also very frustrating to see it done in the context of a decadent and amoral blah blah etc society. Seems like the writers are playing both sides of the fence with this... and after the way BSG turned out, I'm not sure I have much "faith" (ha ha) that the writers won't just pull a Daybreak again. Time will tell, I suppose.

Grandpa Adama is indeed giving his son fine lessons in angst.
I can't tell how I feel about Sam. I like his interactions with Willy, but at the same time... he stabs people with pointy knives. And goes home to his husband. I don't know how to feel about that. But he's definitely one of the most interesting parts of the show, and now that Vergis seems to be on to Daniel, I'm worried about him. :(
