Ugh. It is a miserable day. It's cold and rainy, and Toby was sick this past week and has been grumpy today. I took the kids to a McD's with a play place, and NEVER AGAIN. The play place was fine. The TV? NOT GOOD. Toby has a tendency to get his eyes fixed on a TV when one is one, and then he doesn't do a damn thing. Lunch took FOREVER.

My mom's visit was very nice, aside from Toby being sick. (He's either got a sinus infection or strep throat. Either way, he's on an antibiotic.) We didn't get to do everything I would have liked, but we went to the small zoo, which the kids had a great time at, and Mom and I went shopping together, which was a blast. Sadly, we totally struck out at Penney's, which is really weird. But we did have a little luck elsewhere. I also got baby gifts- we had fun picking out baby clothes (two of my friends are having the second children soon, so baby gifts).

bsg_remix should finish posting tomorrow. I will be very glad to have that one done. I've had a great time running it, but the ending of a challenge is always a bit stressful. We'll probably give it a day or two before we post the reveals. I'm a little bummed that comments have been so low on the challenge, but to be honest, I'm not surprised. BSG fandom is getting quieter. I think a lot of the people who are left will be around for a while, but the show's been off for a year, and people have moved on to other pastures. Which, bummer, but hey, that's life, I guess. Happily/Sadly, I did not get to do a pinch hit for one person that I now have an idea of how to remix one of their fics, and I did not get her in the big remix, either. :(

I also need to finish my lgbtfest fic. It's due May 1. Anyone up for a quick turnaround beta? It's going to be a five times fic, fandoms are BSG and Caprica, and deals with rape. I don't have it done yet, but it needs to be done SOON. I'm rating it R, but truthfully, it's very non-graphic.

Okay. Must finish some bsg_remix stuff. Write write write!!!

I could do it if you don't mind that my spelling and grammar aren't the best. I know we might have a somewhat different idea's about character but I sometimes find that useful in a beta cuz it makes me really think about my choices for the character. Plus I could probably give you a fair bit of info on Hoshi's accent and speech quirks since the actor is from around the same area I grew up in.

Maybe I shouldn't offer, but I am still kind of desperate for good procrastination/break excuses--plus, I'm really curious about this one. And I *am* a Grammar Nazi, so maybe if you want two pairs of eyes on it, it'd be a good balance?

Yeah, the quietude of BSG fandom has been a little sad for me, even though I certainly didn't join during the heyday. But at least there are people still around, giving great feedback!

I'm glad the bsg_remix happened! That was some good fic in there. And last year when I was more actively guessing, I realized comments were low. It's because people don't know who wrote them. It's finals times for students/teachers and I guess it's hard for people to read everything and not be sure they'll like it.

I've read a bunch, though, and they are excellent. :-) And once there is a reveal they'll be more comments. :-) I'm glad you and Rose ran it again!
