You know what would be an entertaining crossover that I don't know that anyone but me would read? Harry Dresden and Donald Strachey team up to solve a mystery. What Harry would be doing in Albany is beyond me, so Donald would have to come to Chicago, because I can fathom why people would voluntarily go there. (I grew up in Albany.) Plus, Timmy and Bob hanging out would be incredibly snarky fun. Especially TV!Bob. (I haven't gotten far enough into the books to see if there are huge differences between TV!Bob and book!Bob, aside from the form. But movie!Timmy and TV!Bob would have a lot of fun together.)

So bored today. Although if this cloudiness keeps up, I can actually take the kids to a park and they won't burn themselves on the slides.

Still not running, but the PT says soon. I can't wait. I'm doing the elliptical in the meantime, but I really want to get back to running. I was supposed to start ramping my mileage up this week, with the long run being six miles. I am wondering if I will be able to run the whole marathon, or if I'll have to consider intervals. It depends on my feet.

And That Harry Potter Meme:

I need to read more of it! I watched the whole series, though.

I far and away prefer the books. They changed too much for the TV show. >_> Stick with the books. They get CRAZY in a good way.

Who's Donald Strachey? Is he from books or a TV show or movies?

He's a private eye type. Very sarcastic, kind of rough around the edges, former military, and kind of... I don't know. The sense of humor is very similar to Harry's. He's a gay man, and he tends to get called in on cases where the victims are LGBT, especially since the books themselves were written starting in the early 80s the crimes were often related to the victim being LBGT (either hate crimes or the fact that they had a partner was extremely important, or something along those lines.) Not fantasy, so no magic, but he's got the same kind of mind as Harry. (And Timmy has that same, seemingly prim but not really thing that Bob's got going on.)

As for what media he's from, it depends :) The books came first, and were written by Richard Stevenson. I've read the first three, and they're pretty entertaining. Light, quick, and definite beach reads, but the mystery is pretty good and Donald is a very interesting character, and his partner Timmy is fascinating. The movies (made for TV movies in Canada, which makes them a bit hard to get) came out starting in 2005, starring Chad Allen as Strachey. He does a really good job, and I really like Sebastian Spence as Timmy. I prefer the movie versions of Donald and Timmy- as the movies started coming out in 2005 and the books starting coming out in 1981, the dynamic of the relationship is different. Book!Donald and Timmy are much less... faithful, and I have an infidelity squick, even in a situation like theirs, where everything is on the table. Movie!Donald and Timmy are actually married (I think- they might not be legally married, but they did have some sort of ceremony judging by the picture on Donald's office wall, and they do wear rings), and the casual side-sex doesn't happen. And for TV movies, they're actually pretty darn good. Very worth checking out.

I've always liked Hagrid's entrance him busting down the door and muttering "oaths and apologies" is just says so much about the character and is such a wonderful way of showing us what the character is about. I'm not sure if its my favourite moment (That might be when The Order swarms into the department of mysteries) but it definitely in my top ten.

11. Mine might be Lupin I certaianly empathize with him suffering from my own chronic illness.

I couldn't pick a single moment :) There are too many good ones! :)

I think JKR said that she based Lupin's symptoms on her mother's lupus. I forget for sure, but it makes sense.

"It unscrews the other way"

This was possibly my favorite moment, ever. I laughed. And laughed. And laughed some more. :D

I love that Narcho is ViperPilot!Sirius.

McG vs. Umbridge was my favorite anti-ship in the books. McG kicked ASS!

And my Narcho is TOTALLY ViperPilot!Sirius. (Which my Sirius highly approves of.) And now that I think of it, I write Louis a lot like Remus when he and Narcho are together. I don't write Gaeta/Hoshi like that, but I definitely write Narcho/Hoshi with similar dynamics- especially since in my Narcho/Hoshi world Hoshi is discriminated against as a Sagittaron and is a cancer survivor.
