Why do I even read fanficrants? Seriously, people just spoiling for a fight tend to tick me off, and I'm really grumpy today. I mean, context matters. It matters a lot.

It's only supposed to be in the 80s this week. We could get outside! I need to find a day to take the kids to the creek. The problem is we keep getting these flash thunderstorms, and they swell the creek too much to take the kiddies the next morning. Like, today would be perfect, but with the flash storm we got yesterday.... Toby wants to go "exploring" at the park, too. Hmm. Maybe we can go after naps. The creek might be low enough by then.

Whose bright idea was it to make this Guilt Week? Seriously. I'm supposed to be working on my big bang. :P

Hoshi was sitting in his bunk, reading. He stiffened as Kendra addressed him. "I don't care to discuss it."

"If you want me to keep my mouth shut to Cain, you will." Kendra leaned against his locker. "Why the frak are you doing it?"

"Not really your business," he reminded her in a steely sort of sing-song. Kendra stared at him until he put his book down. "Fine. Because it's not about sex."

"Really."

"Yeah."

Kendra crossed her arms. "Sure looked like it when you were sucking his dick."

"I can see how you might make that mistake." He still wasn't looking at her; his eyes were focused on his book. "But it is a mistake."

"Then enlighten me."

Hoshi sighed and put his book down. "You asked me once if I can still hear them screaming, and I told you I do" he said. Kendra nodded tightly. "That's true. But when I'm with Jack, I don't."

"You love him?" Kendra asked, surprised.

"I can't stand the bastard. The whole thing makes me sick."

"Then why do you-"

"That's why," Hoshi interrupted sharply. "Now let me read my book."

"All right." Kendra backed off and headed to her own bunk and pulled the privacy curtain shut. As she lay back and closed her eyes, she heard the screaming in her head.

Ooh OUCH. You know I'm pretty infatuated with the sexual self punishment aspect you've given Louis. Gives him that edge and darker layer that seems to characterize pretty much everyone from Pegasus(except Showboat apparently :P). And you write Kendra really well, she's not written nearly enough.

Thanks :) This is turning fairly fun. They're doing drugs together now. It's kind of disturbing, because I just can't imagine Hoshi doing drugs, even though interviews I've read with BD I can totally imagine him with a bong.

It is. Truthfully, I haven't read much fic since not long after DH came out. for all the little flaws, DH ended in a very happy place for me.

Why do I even read fanficrants?
Word. I tried these types of comms for a bit and ended up mad most of the time because people gleefully took things out of context to make others look bad or all kinds of stupid.

Also eeeeeee to the gen recs, especially a_t_rain's. She is one of my favorites authors.

I admit- every now and then the drama can amuse me, especially when I'm bored. But the stupid can frustrate me to no end.

And gen recs are so fun! Totally agree about a_t_rain. I was got into the Remus/Tonks stuff, but her gen stuff is pure love :)
