Quick Rec

This is definitely a rec everyone on this list should read, because most of you found me through Deny Thy Father, and therefore presumably have some interest in the story of Sirius running away from home. The title is Just Another Word, and it's by ignipes. Completely, 100% gen, so even if you aren't a R/S shipper, go read anyways. (Actually, I probably wouldn't recommend it if it wasn't gen, because I have this belief that Sirius-running-away-from-home-fic SHOULD be gen, so...) Very well written, understated, and excellent characterization of Sirius's parents. (And Regulus the history buff, which is a characterization I'm very, very rapidly becoming fond of and was using myself for AIL 10. But let's be serious- a kid who can figure out about horcruxes probably is a history buff. Or something.)

Enough babbling: go read. I've always enjoyed ignipes's writing, and this is possibly one of my favorite subjects in fandom, so of course I'll pimp it, but I think it's well worth the pimp.

I know. She commented AGES ago that one of the reasons she hadn't read Deny Thy Father was that she was working on a Sirius-running-away-from-home fic and didn't want to be influenced by another story that had a similar premise: I've been waiting for her version ever since. Today was definitely a good day! :)

And I was really happy to be able to see R/S, even in a fic that's not R/S. *g*
