Whoohoo! Cover art! I'm a little disappointed, but let's face it. What I really want is Remus and Sirius confirmation, and I was never gonna get that via cover art.
Anyway. Today's pick is Jack Ichijouji, a rare, rare writer. For one: he's a guy. For one point five, he even writes some Remus/Sirius slash. For two, he's a great writer writing on ff.net. And for three, he's funny. His author page at ff.net is here.
More about Jack
What I love about Jack's writing is the humor. In his hands MWPP are the boys they're meant to be, and they're hysterical. I love the characterizations of all four, but Remus and Peter stick out to me. Plus, Jack has a tendency to put in little double edged barbs that poke fun at both the fandom and the characters simultaneously.
Stories You Must Read:
Skin Deep- Worth it for the Quidditch talk between Remus and Peter, and for Sirius trying to grow a beard. Also great if it's ever frustrated you that Sirius is made to be rather girly in many stories.
Here Lies a Friend- A funeral for Sirius. I was cracking up through half of it, and then when Remus put his thing in the memorial I almost flat out cried. This is so the way Sirius would want to be remembered.
An Affair to Forget- Lockheart (or is it Lockhart?) comes on to Snape. What gets me about this one is Snape's letter. The letters that Jack puts in his stories never fail to crack me up so hard I nearly pee my pants.
Mourning- Severus and Remus dealing with Sirius's death. Should angst be this funny at the same time?
The Ambigious Trilogy- They're on Rynne's rec list. If you haven't read them now, shame on you.
The Other Prisoner of Azkaban- Sirius sees Hagrid in Azkaban. Another thing I love about Jack's writing is there's a lot of gen stuff, and because he's not so focused on romance/sex/whatever you see a lot of plotlines I don't normally see as an R/S shipper.
Definitely great stuff, and not your average writer!
