I need a good depressed icon that isn't just HP-related.

Like a good portion of my f-list, I'm somewhat out of sorts today. Normally, celebrity deaths don't bother me, but John Spencer's did. This one hit almost as badly as when Mr. Rogers died. I know that sounds big, but still. I really do like what I've seen of West Wing (we've only watched the first four seasons as of yet), and I've always been very fond of Leo- to the point where he's probably my second favorite character. (It's pretty impossible to top Toby.) I suspect I'm going to cry my eyes out when we pop in the first episode from season 5 and I see him.

Rest in peace, John Spencer.

I'm so not into the Christmas mood this year. I knew I was going to be busy (thus the reason I didn't really participate in any/many card swaps), but I just am exhausted as well, and Christmas just seems like this huge burden. Maybe it will feel more like Christmas once we get a tree... if we manage to do so. My poor husband is exhausted as well. Today he's been going around to different places doing a lot of Christmas shopping, and tomorrow he has to be at his brother's at 7 AM to help him move. Ugh.

And I am frantically trying to finish my shackingup_sesa fic. I WILL get it done- in fact, I could probably cut out the plot and submit a PWP type story, but I'd really rather not. I the fic-fanart swap (I forget what it's called at the moment because I'm tired. The annoying thing is that one I have pouring out of my fingers, and it's not due for another 13 days or so.) and the year end review article for MRFH (which I'm cheating and revising a LJ entry I made a while back- HA!), and oh yeah, editing for the novel. Which all tells me I need to use this time that LLN is sleeping to write.

And pump.

Thus endeth the random entry of spam.

Lissa, you have a lot on your plate right now just with Toby. I think you'll be forgiven this year if Christmas is low-key to non-existent in your household. Toby won't care, and right now you and your hubby need rest and time simply to be. That's the important thing anyway: you, your hubby and Toby together. Anything else like trees and decorating are a distant second.

(((hugs)))

True enough! (And thanks for the hugs :) ) We're not bothering with decorating- although we actually want the tree. I actually don't feel too bad that I don't have any Christmas spirit this year- just more tired about it. And thinking I need to change my "fuck off" icon to "bah humbug" so I can use it. Jake Gyllenhaal in a Santa Claus hat needs to be used.

Everything that [livejournal.com profile] topaz_eyes said. Couldn't be said better.

Thanks :) I actually feel like Charlie Brown, lamenting that Christmas has gotten too commercial. (We did actually watch that the other night. I'd forgotten how sarcastic it was in places!)

*huggles* I'm not in a Christmas mood either at the moment.

::hugs back:: Glad I'm not the only one! If I didn't have enough writing on my plate, I'd suggest doing a bah humbug ficlet thingie type thing.

But I haven't even had time to read the newest chapter of APAP, which I really, REALLY want to read. :P

*hides* You might not like it, because it has a little bit of Cedric/Harry pre-slash, in preparation for the Cedric/Harry that's going to be in the sequel, and I know you don't like Harry shipping. *hides again*

It's not so much I don't like Harry-shipping; I actually find it kind of boring to argue about or discuss or whatever. I don't like reading Harry NC-17 anything (slash or het), because it's like reading about my kid brother having sex, but other than that... I doubt that will be enough to turn me off!

I can sympathize with you entirely. There have been four celebrity deaths that affected me deeply. So much so, that I found it excruciating to watch and/or listen to their work even though I adored it.

1. River Phoenix
2. Kurt Cobain
3. Michael Hutchence
4. Sergei Grinkov (a pairs skater who, with his partner Ekaterina Gordeeva, took the 1988 Winter Olympics by storm).

I watched "Stand by Me" Friday night and it still made me a little weepy.
