A day early, but... Merry Christmas/happy holidays to everyone! (Hmmm. I really should have made myself a Christmas icon. Oh well. I'll use my default since the scene took place at Christmas anyway.) I hope everyone has a happy, peaceful, healthy holiday.

I don't have time to actually write anything myself, so I'm going to post the Christmas song that's the most on my mind, and the one I've been singing to Toby as a lullaby. I think, given the recent years we've had, there's a lot to be said for

If you don't know the lyrics to Garth Brooks' "Belleau Wood", they're absolutely gorgeous and based on a true instance in WW I (I think?). So Peace on Earth and Good Will to All!!!!

Yes, it did happen - both German and Allied troops held an impromptu cease-fire at Christmas in 1914. They sang carols, lit candles and played football between the trenches. So sad that the war didn't end then and there....
