I made a new icon just for this post. Like it? (Somehow, I suspect it will come in very useful anyway.)
So. It's been over six weeks since I had Toby. When I had Toby, I went in on Friday, had the C-section at 5:30 on Friday night. I didn't leave the hospital until Tuesday morning. From the birth to the discharge, that's about 90 hours.
Sometime, in that ninety hours, do you think my doctor could have found time to tell me they removed two cysts????
Sure, they weren't malignant. Happy ending and all- they weren't any big deal. But that's not the point. The point is, IF YOU'RE DOING A SURGICAL PROCEDURE ON ME, YOU SHOULD TELL ME YOU DID IT!!!!!! (Hell, you should probably ask for my consent or my husband's, but I'm not sure about that.) I should NOT be finding out I had a cystectomy six weeks later at my post-partum checkup!
Honestly.
Idiots.
In other news, I submitted my Brokeback Mountain review. I'll post when it's up. And I've already started Accidentally In Love 11. Whoohoo! (Okay, so I've only written a few paragraphs. But STILL.)
I should do housework or something. Or take a bath.
Freaking doctor.

Date: 2006-01-17 08:09 pm (UTC)After my last c-section, I had a lot of scar tissue -- I actually did have to go under general anesthesia because the epidural wasn't working -- and he removed all that, but he at least told my husband what he was doing and why it would take longer to close me up.
But I'm glad to hear the tests were all normal.

Date: 2006-01-17 09:36 pm (UTC)Maybe the consent forms you signed when you were admitted might have a clause about how they can proceed with things like that? Otherwise, that's a big WTF. And the fact that they didn't tell you for six weeks is also very unsettling. On the other hand, thank goodness everything is OK and they were not malignant.
