My presentation is in. YES!

It was not easy to write, in some ways. I've been out of the biodiesel world a little too long already, and my brain is more full of dirty diapers and nap times than anything else. On the other hand, I did think ahead enough to write most of it quite a while ago. So we'll see what my boss has to say.

I do miss the biodiesel/science world sometimes, but not as much as I thought I would. I really need to get back on top of my game, though. What I really want to do is apply to write freelance for Biodiesel Magazine. I can't imagine they wouldn't take me- I'm a decent writer, I'm good at translating science to normal-people, and I have a fricking Ph.D. in the subject. I just need to do it. What's holding me back? (Besides Lupinslittlenephew?) I need to get my paper done. I have GOT to finish that paper on my research for the Journal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, and SOON.

So things that need writing:

1.) PAPER!
2.) AIL 11
3.) AIL in general
4.) Movie reviews- re-review Serenity, do Firefly (I don't care if Justin's done it), Magnificent Seven (drool over Yul Brenner), the article I'm working on with [livejournal.com profile] pfrsue, finish "Musicians Who Think They Can Act", etc.
5.) I have two nearly-completed Sirius stories on my HD. Complete them!
6.) Lost Years story
7.) Lots and lots of other stuff.

Think I should stop making lists and go write! (But notice my Remix isn't on there. That's cause it's DONE! SUBMITTED! WHOOHOO! Oh. That reminds me: Remixer of mine, if you read this: if I do not thank you immediately, it is not because I am rude or because I hate you or what you've done. It is because I don't always get on my computer for long periods of time over the weekend, and I may have to wait until Monday. Please do not be offended!)

I don't miss actually going to work, dealing with the politics of it, etc., but I do find myself paying close attention when anything regarding the school district pops into the news. Or if I'm talking education with anyone, I can get a bit ... enthusiastic. *g* I think I miss the interaction with other people in my field the most. And I miss the kids. I did love the kids, if not writing up lesson plans. :P
