Wow. I'm actually writing a SECOND entry. Whoohoo.

I picked this question up from musefool's page. (I should probably be polite and link, but I'm still learning my way around this. Anyway, I liked it, and as I'm aiming to join the remusxsirius community, I should have some related entries, huh? So...

In your LJ, recommend five stories that always work for you:

1.) Lovers for Tonight, Back to Being Friends, When Moony Met Sin, and When Sin Met Snuffles by Mysid.
Link: http://www.vixenette.slashcity.org/mysid/lovers1.html

Normally I'm not fond of Gryffindwhore Sirius, but this is the one time it really, really works for me. I don't like that particular characterization because I've never known a guy who's all about sleeping around then BAM! realizes he's in love and stops. Maybe it happens, but I think it's more what girls WANT to happen. Sure, guys do do this, but the change comes from within.

Mysid's Sirius doesn't suddenly realize he's in love with Remus and change his ways; he's not that mature. And Remus, once he realizes he can't take it, doesn't act like a complete doormat. This one totally fits JKR's answer to the Godmother Question, and yet is completely believable. A bit painful, but since she stops at a happy ending, I can deal.

2.) The Never-Ending Diary of Remus Lupin, Aged 34 1/2 by Alshain

My all-time favorite piece of fanfiction, ever ever ever. This is Prisoner of Azkaban as told to Remus's diary. The voice sounds exactly right to me, Remus is strained and damaged but funny and lovable, his memories of Sirius are poignant, and Snape is completely Snape. I love this piece more than I can say.

The only thing I don't love about this piece is the Harry/Oliver relationship. I firmly read Harry as straight, but that's okay. Let ye without slash cast the first stone, or something like that! The rest of the fic is so perfect and so wonderful that I can completely deal with Harry/Oliver.

3.) Sirius Has a Girlfriend by Riko
Link: http://www.livejournal.com/users/riko/35634.html

I love fanfics that focus on a plot other than just Sirius and Remus's relationship, and this one fits the bill perfectly. The Wolfstar bits are woven in with Remus moving out of his old place thanks to lycanthropy, and Sirius being put on a case to track his brother. The romance is sweet and at the same time heart-breaking, and the imagery is just beautiful. I love Sirius in this one, even more than Remus. He's not an asshole- just utterly oblivious.

4.) Three Days by musesfool
Link: http://www.unfitforsociety.net/musesfool/3days.htm

Okay, so I love just about anything R/S by musesfool. I have her page bookmarked. But today I'm picking this one, because it goes with my seeming theme here- fics that have other plots as well as just Remus and Sirius. Three Days focuses on the reunion of Sirius and Remus at Grimmauld Place, and again, more is going on than just the rekindling of their relationship.

5.) Stealing Harry by Sam Vimes

So it's been recced to death and everything, but I loved this one, once I finally read it. Such a nice change, especially since R/S authors have defined events they have to work with. A nice AU makes things much more interesting.

Plus, Sam Vimes writes some really good stuff. And he's funny.

Speaking of writing, there's an open copy of Accidentally In Love Part 4 on my desktop, calling my name.

Ciao!
